According to Javale McGee his team is the best team in the world right now. And his teammates think LeBum is the best player in the world right now too.

He's right. Unfortunately.

There's a very real chance that the Lakers this season end up tying Boston for most titles (I know, the five Minny titles shouldn't count for them, but that's not how most people see it outside of Boston).

McGee really shouldn't be talking—he has little to do with their success—but that's how it goes.

Ehh he's not wrong. They destroyed the Bucks. They beat the Clippers. They beat the Celtics. They beat the 76ers.

At this rate, they'll be sweeping the Grizzlies in Round 1, and sweeping the Jazz in Round 2. Cakewalk through the playoffs for them plus the Kobe Bryant morale they certainly can win it all this year.

Probably because I don't think Pat Connaughton mentioned Milwaukee being the best team in the world.  ;)

Also the Fakers did beat Milwaukee and then the Clippers over the weekend, so there is that.

I get it, I think that these kind of quotes are numerous and irrelevant.
As I said Pat Connaughton can make a same statement and it would also mean nothing.
So can Ivica Zubac.

Guys on contenders will always say that they are on the best team in the league.

One weekend doesn't really mask their personnel problems as I see them and it surely doesn't swing my opinion that they are not even the best team in their own city. They are 1-2 vs Clips, teams like Phoenix, Atlanta, and Chicago have also beaten them once.

Correct.  They’re the best team over the past few weeks.  No titles are handed out in early March, though, and McGee is the last player who should be flapping his gums.

I guess after the loss to the Nets LAL are one of the worse teams in the league.

What I am saying is that if some are high on recency biases they should stick to their guns.
