Looks like he is liking the attention of slick passes and trick shots. Rolle Massimino always said" live by the sword die by the sword".
There were several overly ambitious attempts at the rim with spin and the deep early clock heat check three. Why do players do that? Instead of just playing the way they were that was so successful That  pushing limits to Curry range is stupid. If it doesn't go, it has a way of killing runs.
Add some truly horrendous look at me passes.

Semi was a late bloomer at collegiate level. After transferring out of Duke, it was in his last year that he became the scorer that he was supposed to have been.
This year i saw a different Semi getting up court, a more decisive player. Maybe it was watching the youngsters learning and making mistakes gave him a boost.

Agree that Semi is still quite an intriguing prospect. I wouldn't be surprised if someone wants to kick the tyres on giving him heavy minutes for a couple months: he definitely has trade value...

Also, yeah, Marcus tends to dial up the crazy either early in the game, or when a blowout is on the cards. Generally he is fairly sensible - his TOV rate is very good for a point guard. Really, in the whole league only Patty Mills, Corey Joseph, George Hill and Pat Bev are more assured in terms of comparable usage PGs.

I actually really like some of his more ambitious passes - yes they're more likely to result in turnovers, but the high value looks (eg. wide open layups) that come from such attempts are more than worth it unless he's turning it over in those attempts at an obscenely high rate.

If he could hone his passing to the point where he can run an offence well and throw high leverage passes at a nice rate while improving his shooting he could very well follow the path of Kyle Lowry (obviously not at the All-NBA level Lowry was a couple of years ago, but in a similar mould).
