How the hell does Devin Booker not make the All-Star game?? Such a joke.
Yeah, that is ridiculous. He has improved so much this season and is playing at a high level. He deserves to be there.

Devin Booker has not been selected to the All-Star Game.

The only other players in NBA history to average 27 PPG and 6 APG on 50% shooting in a season are LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Steph Curry and Oscar Robertson.

I know CP3 has done well with OKC (who are a playoff team) and he's been a great leader, but CP3 over Booker?? YIKES.

I think Beal got discounted because the Wizards play some of the most blatant score 120 give up 140 basketball I've seen in quite some time. Trae Young has the same issue though so I guess you can be mad about him taking the one good stats on an bad team slot from Beal.

I'm still very annoyed that Young is on the team instead of Jaylen. If Atlanta keeps on the current course he'll be a fixture on the team while staying glued to the lottery. (ala Kyrie before LBJ returned to Cleveland) Could mean Jaylen missing out on multiple all-star teams while playing winning basketball on a good team.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Unfortunately for Jaylen, it appears the Cs will have to be the clear #1 or he will have to prove he is a cut above the rest before he finally makes it, since he is the 3rd guy on the Cs. Kyrie will be back next season and he always gets the fan vote and Beal's WAS team probably won't be quite as bad. I assume Lowry is nearing the end of his All-Star reign, but there are always new hot names out there.

I think if he continues to average over 20 and play excellent defense that he will eventually be rewarded, but it's not going to be as easy for him as somebody like Tatum who will probably make it every year forever now. Why Tatum has a much better image than Brown is beyond me, but I think the same thing about Irving. Fans just love some guys.
It's simple - big time scoring and eye catching moves. There's a trend with fans overrating players, almost all of them were big time scorers with a versatile moveset to get those points, while players who excel at the less glamorous aspects of the game that are just as (or nearly as) valuable get dismissed as role players.
Of course the funny thing is a massive part of Tatum's value is the non flashy stuff on defense. One of the biggest reasons he's been better than Jaylen on D is he doesn't give up as many silly fouls, transition mix ups, or back cuts.

This is one of the reasons I'm still incredibly high on Tatum's potential, he has done the valuable non flashy stuff this year at an elite level.
I wasn't talking about Tatum specifically though (and I do rate him as an All-Star, so I'm fine with his current image). I was talking about the Irvings or the world who look flashy on offence and have big scoring numbers but don't do much else.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

Congrats Tatum! Definitely well deserved

It’s interesting to see practically all the top teams in the East getting 2 all stars each (Simmons/Embiid, Butler/Bam, Giannis/Middleton, Siakam/Lowry, Kemba/Tatum). As flashy as Trae is, I’m not a fan but idk. Fan vote. Whatcha gonna do?
