I wonder how much of tonight's performance was because Stevens stuck with his top 8, best, most experienced players and that's it. Doing so maximized his talent on the floor on both ends and it showed in the consistency of play, on offense throughout and on defence after the first 6 minutes of the game.

I think Stevens had to have lit into this team about the isolation style ball they have been playing. This team barely iso'ed and the ball kept on moving and players off the ball moving, as well.

Stevens catches a lot of flack in these game threads. I think he deserves a bunch of credit for this win.

This is what it looks like when the next generation catches up and passes by you

I just saw the replay. Why the hell was that a tech foul.

I find it very, very hard to enjoy LeBron in any capacity when they ref the game around him like that.

i was at the game..the ref said he "stared him down"

It's very easy to second guess coaching, myself included, but getting the players to buy in to what you want is very hard. It also makes everything work when the shots are falling. The hustle tonight, the whole came through, was what this team needed. It seems like Steven's lit a fire under the collective asses of The Celtics!

It was a bad call. The NBA sells moments like that.

The Celtics also rarely had games where they had their best 8 players available. This is one of those rare games.

Yeah, pretty much this. I'll keep saying it - I think people underappreciate how much injury trouble we've had this year, especially with our main guys and especially lately.

You need permission to dunk on the king like that. That is why it was a T.

Remember when Tatum posterized the king and then bumped him? These kids have no respect lol

Just got home from the game.  That defensive intensity for 48 minutes, wow, really good to see. I hope they maintain that kind of commitment going forward. They will be tough to beat along with so many playmakers.

Yup, this is only the 6th game out of 42 where all of the top 7 guys were healthy to play. A lot of those games were with 2 or more of the top 7 out to top things off.

Langford looks like a pro on offence, the moves he has are really advanced for a guard/wing combo.
agreed.  the few on the site that complain he's a bust already have no idea what this kid can do

Its just 3-5 vocal idiots who think they can see the future.

Langford looks as smooth as butter.  ;D

Wonder if they’ll work him in more by the all star break or after... In his limited minutes his defense and rebounding have been solid, too.
So why wasn’t he playing in the bad stretch where we were shorthanded ?

I wonder this as well but I bet Brad has his reasons. The kid looks good when he plays but it's only been in tiny minutes.

I believe he’s been sick with the flu that went through the team recently as well.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

This is how they're going to have to play in the playoffs because there is no bench to speak of. They got more than they usually get out of Semi tonight - but to me this is Brad publicly acknowledging that his bench sucks.

I wouldn't read a whole lot into the game even though it's great that they came out focused and really worked at it defensively. The Lakers were a no show tonight in the middle of a long road trip.  We've seen the same same script from the Celtics at times this season.

I'm sure that many are going to overreact but the team's issues haven't changed.  Danny needs to step up and improve the depth if they're going to do anything in the post season - most likely via the buyout market.

I can't believe the Celtics dismantled the second-best team in the NBA, fully healthy.

Not just your typical game-winning jump shot or 15-point win, but 32 points? Against the arch-nemesis Lakers who have always played well at the TD Garden?

Crazy and wonderful.

Credit to Jayson Tatum for donating his jersey and shoes to raise funds for those affected by the Australian Bushfires

Meanwhile the self proclaimed king's total contribution = ZERO

I'll bet if China was on fire he'd spare a few dollars
