If The Celtics can't score at the beginning of games it might be time to change up who's starting.

But who starts and who goes to the bench?

I mean at the very least the (3) 20 ppg scorers need to start.  So who of DT and GH doesn't start, and who starts for them?

send Hayward to the bench and start Grant Williams in his place

IMO it just looks like the Celts have no energy or care at all. Gotta wonder if that flu bug is affecting a few of them.

I'm gonna agree with this. Ball movement is a non-factor on this Celtcs team, like it's not a priority at all. The Spurs are carving them up out there.

If those guys aren't going to score in the 1st quarter then they can come off the bench. Start Kanter and feed the post in the first quarter. Just have some kind of game plan. This is some ugly ball right now.

Hayward doesn't look right. I wonder if the foot is still bothering him.

this is completely on brad. when one student is failing, it’s the student’s fault. when the entire class is failing, it’s the teacher’s fault. this team has been playing completely uninspired, lazy basketball for weeks and nothing has changed. no staring line up changes, no benching of players to make a statement, no brad tirades to kick the team’s ass, no technicals from the coaches to wake up the team.

bottom line, the team is a reflection of their leader and as other teams are finding their rhythm almost halfway through the season, this team is lost, doesn’t have a clear identity, or an obvious leader. 55 wins looks like a stretch for this team as currently constructed.

Just shocking how bad we’ve been and how comfortable the spurs are.

They have figured things out

Pops is a perfectionist

Celts starting unit has holes. Especially underneath the basket.  When everyone tries to collapse and help the 3 pt shot in wide open

Instead of Theis a center like Robert Williams would an upgrade on D

offensively the D is guarding everyone 1.5 and leaving Theis alone.  Who is not a sure 3 pt shooter nor skilled passer

I don't know why also he tries so hard to grab offensive rebounds when he rarely grabs one on his own

The Wings and Guards have been letting their man get penetration and rotating slower. This isnt on the bigs.

I agree. At least try something different!

Hayward is soft. He's pretty much been a complete non-factor since breaking his hand and coming back.

He doesn't seem to be able to do his thing with Tatum, Brown,  and Smart needing the ball too.

One other thing to watch out for as fans.  When you beat a team handily, you can expect them to come back focused for revenge.  Happened with Toronto and now it’s happening with SA.  I expected a really tough game given how we beat them eierlier this year.

  • GOT IT!!!
I think the team is the product of your coach. I don't see Stevens as a guy that values a strong regular season record. He's always going to favor health over that and subconsciously the team will feed off it. That's not necessarily a bad thing because the opposite is Thibodeau and to some extent Budenholzer.

On pace for 55 wins, can that get the 2 seed this season?

Start Tacko and Green in the 2nd half

Gotta think so. They havent really fixed the underlying problem.

this is completely on brad. when one student is failing, it’s the student’s fault. when the entire class is failing, it’s the teacher’s fault. this team has been playing completely uninspired, lazy basketball for weeks and nothing has changed. no staring line up changes, no benching of players to make a statement, no brad tirades to kick the team’s ass, no technicals from the coaches to wake up the team.

This isnt high school. Benching players have a negative impact in the NBA. Starting lineup changes? Our starting lineup has basically been different from our regular starting lineup for a while now!

Playing bad for weeks? What an exaggeration, the team have a top 2 net rating and were on a winning streak before losing Kemba.
