Based on large leads in early voting returns, assume that the East starters are:

Kemba / Trae Young
Siakam / Giannis / Embiid

Who would you pick for the other 7 spots?

Let me know if I forgot anyone.

I voted for Brown, Tatum, Beal, Butler, Adebayo, Lowry & Sabonis. Would rather Hayward than Lowry, but Lowry has been more healthy. Lowry v Dinwiddie and/or Lavine is tough

Sabonis gets the nod over Drummond for me, but that’s a tossup really.

I am the guy that voted Lavine but it's not because I think he deserves to be there but because I am betting the coaches put in a Chicago player to continue the recent strings of giving the hometown guy the MVP. He will be put in the game and fed endlessly so he gets the award.

Ah I missed Lowry, I voted Brogdon instead of him ::). My other picks were Jaylen, Tatum, Butler, Bam, Sabonis and Beal.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

Great minds ;)

If a hometown guy does get in, as Nick rightfully points out, it’d be cool if it were DRose (despite him not really deserving it, IMO)

Aye 8). And I'd probably prefer LaVine, he's actually one of the premier scorers in the league right now outside of the MVP talents.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

AD is a hometown guy-the NBA can give him the MVP. Lavine is a empty stat stuffer

Jaylen, Tatum, Middleton, Jimmy Butler, Beal
Sabonis, Brogdon

The first 5 guys gotta be there.
The next two I am less sold on. Adebayo vs Sabonis over Drummond. Then Brogdon vs Lowry over Dinwiddie & B.Simmons.

I don't see LaVine getting in. He is too inconsistent as a scorer (feast or famine scorer). His team is struggling (talent wise, they should be a playoff team). He hasn't improved over last season. Defense still subpar. I don't see it.

I wouldn't pick him, but should probably include Tobias Harris on the list?

I took Jayson, Jaylen, Simmons, Lowry, Butler, Adebayo, and Middleton. Reward teams with good records.

Looking at this, it seems like Tatum has an easier path to becoming an all star than Jaylen.

Jaylen has a lot of competition at guard, both from stat stuffers like Beal & Dinwiddie, and playoff team leaders like Lowry & Brogdon.

I still think Jaylen deserves to be our 2nd all star, but the scenario where we get 2 and it’s Kemba/JT seems very possible, if not likely.

Do we really think that Trae Young is going to be a starter once the coach and player vote is factored in?

My picks

G - Lowry
G - Beal
F - Tatum
F - Butler
F - Bam
W - Brown
W - Sabonis

I agree, we don't, but unless you think Trae won't make it at all the net is the same, just vote your starter.  I picked the same guys as you also fwiw.
