I don't see it. Warriors dumped him because he was too small and weak defensively to play center and too unskilled to play PF.

Let him develop on someone else's dime. He is going to need a few years to maybe learn how to be an effective NBA player.

He's 6'10", jumps through the roof, is taller than 2/3 of our centers (not counting Poirier).  He has handle of a small forward, so disagree with you on his skill set.

He has issues, but I think it is a no brainer to take him on in lieu of Poirier.  He is only 22, center skills take time.

He is taller than Rob Williams but he looks smaller. He is a pushover out there. Cannot hold position. Some guys just play small. He needs to toughen up.

I am surprised to see GSW give up on him so quickly. They expect hardly anything out of their centers and he could not even reach that low benchmark. That is a hugely worrying sign.

As GSW stands right now I simply don't see this assessment as fair.

What type of on-court leadership do they even have healthy right now? Just about all of their horses (DeAngelo, Curry, Klay) are out.

Draymond - while STILL a defensive stalwart - is NOT a talent that can put a team on his shoulders by himself.

They are simply a mish-mash of talent right now...much of this talent was SUPPOSED to mesh around Steph, DeAngelo and Dray. It hasn't worked out like that yet.

None of that has anything to do with why they don't want him on their team though.  If anything he should get more opportunities on this mish-mashed team.  The team isn't expected to win this year, and they don't care if Chriss has contributed to winning.  They just don't think he's worth having on their team short term or long term.

I agree with your criticism of his game. But the main reason they dumped him is he was non-guaranteed and they wanted to sign Damion Lee to the main roster off two-way deals. (his 45 days were up)

The Warriors would have liked to develop him as this year is just a tank/development year but they needed to free up money to get under the hard cap further.

I know the kid's a bust up to this point, but I actually saw flashes from him in Phoenix both as a roll man and rim protector.  I've seen no less than two game-winning plays from him at the end of 4th quarters.

Would he solve all our problems, or even get consistent PT?  No, probably not.

But is it worth taking a flier on him if all that's required is ditching Poirer?  Seems like a no-brainer unless there's someone better to drop Poirer for down the road, and I'm not sure how we'd predict that one.

While Chriss definitely came into the NBA with certain concerns related to work ethic, attitude, and shot mechanic flaws. I have to think any high draft picks with those problems getting drafted by Kings, Hornets, and Magic must suck terribly considering how terrible they are at developing talent and prospects.

He’s part of the reasons McDonough got fired from the suns. I can’t believe he traded up so many picks to be able to draft him

So Chriss was released, passed on by every other team in the league, then signed a 2 Way contract back with GSW and people think this guy was the answer to a center upgrade?  ;D

Lol and TP.....and my guess is if the team lost last night, this thread would be filled with some fierce people posting over and over and over..........and over again how we should have gotten Chriss because we need tall players.

If we're only talking about upgrading Poirer, then sure.  Chriss might not be an NBA player but Poirer for sure isn't.

If we're talking about Chriss as a major contributor this year... yeah that would be, uh, unlikely.
