how many games this year have the celtics won in which 3 or more players scored 20+?

feels like that's a signature of this team
The way it's constructed, I think it has to be.  The nice thing is the guy pulling the strings, Kemba, is really good at figuring out when he's got to be a scorer vs getting others going.

Hey guys ... we're up to Top 5 offense and defense now.

good win today.

- really not liking Tatum dribbling the crap out of the ball to come up with a bad shot regardless of whether he makes it or not.
- Wanamaker needs to improve his ability to facilitate the offense to get others a good shot
- good things happen when Hayward is actively driving into the paint -- preferably to shoot rather than kick out for a 3.
- Kanter is great to have off the bench for offense and rebounding.  getting better integrated with the team with each game.

I have to admit he's an asset, even though it still mystifies me when I watch him closely on defense.

Kanter is one of the worst I've ever watched in terms of somehow managing to not deter the offensive player at all even when he's in the vicinity of the shot attempt.

A lot of big guys with poor mobility (e.g. Kelly Olynyk) are able to play defense by having quick hands, good instincts, and simply by placing themselves between the man and the basket.

Kanter is often in the area of where a shot attempt occurs, but he rarely seems to affect the shot at all.  Often that's because he fails to even get his hands up, but sometimes he does and still it seems like the offensive player is completely undeterred.

At times I wonder if Kanter's presence somehow makes offensive players shoot better.  Like he exudes an aura of shot-making or something, haha.

One interesting thing about how the Celts have used Kanter this year:

Out of 402 minutes (not including the most recent game), Kanter has only played 21 minutes without one of Tatum or Brown on the floor with him.

That seems like a smart decision to me.  Make up for Kanter's awful defense by making sure at least one of the bigger wing defenders is on the floor.

Our best reffed game all year comes from a woman ref. Nicely done.
Yikes...this is terrible.

What does her being female have to do with being a good or bad ref? I can list a plethora of absolutely awful referees, all male. Being guys has nothing to do with their ability to be a good or bad ref.

Nice job extrapolating there pal  ::)

I am not extrapolating anything. When you say the best reffed game comes from a woman you are inferring that women refs are somehow inferior to men refs. The statement reads like you are surprised a woman could ref the best officiated game of the year. No extrapolating necessary.

The statement is very sexist. I will assume you didn't mean it that way. I will assume you saw her ref before and she sucked and that you noticed she was much better today but just wrote that observation very poorly.

There is just no reason whatsoever to bring the referees sex into the equation. When you do you are making a statement about her sex affecting her ability to be a referee.

What you said is the equivalent of saying "Our best played game came from a white guy. Nicely done!" That is a racist statement. Again, what would that player being white have to do with anything?

Can you now see how what you wrote can be interpreted differently than how you may have meant it? Especially by a woman, who we do have a bunch of that post on this site?

That’s literally not what I meant at all but please do send another wall of text. Great job clarifying first before lighting up the pitchfork. You must be a blast to hang out with.

Your original statement ("Nicely done") makes no sense unless the reader infers your surprise that the "best reffed game" of the season was accomplished by a female ref.

You understand this and it is insulting that you're playing coy about it.

Just own up to it -- it doesn't make you a terrible person -- and let's move on.

Great win! No Brown, but still took care of business with good performances from Kemba, Tatum, Hayward & Kanter.

I think a healthy Kemba/Jaylen/Tatum/Hayward/Kanter starting 5 can be extremely lethal, and championship caliber.

Happy New Years in advance to everyone!! (Or Happy New Years officially to those in other parts of the world where it's already January 1)  ;D

I’m paying a compliment to a woman referee who did a good job reffing the game. I really don’t appreciate you trying to bring race into this, that’s a total strawman. The only aspect I can agree on is that it should not be noteworthy whether it was a man or woman referee.

Compare and contrast what I said with something like “wow can’t believe a woman ref called a good game finally!” There’s a huge difference. I can’t help you guys with your overly sensitive interpretation.

Also please stop referring to a woman as “female”, this isn’t science class. She’s a human, not a cat. You guys should really know better. I’m starting to think you’re both a bit insecure in your own viewpoints of women.

That was for nickagenta. This conversation is too boring to address you both individually.
