Celts would have to give up 4 players for Thompson.
I already proposed trading for Thompson and some of the posters here didn't like the idea because of the drama that Thompson and Chloe Kardashian would bring.
Hopefully, there would be no need to give up anybody. This thread is about potential buyout candidates, not potential trade targets. Worst case scenario, we would cut Green or dump Poirier (possibly sacrificing a second rounder in the process).
Trading for Thompson sucks cause we'd have to match his $18,539,130 salary. Signing Thompson via the buyout market? That's a whole nother story.
I want and like TT but we can't afford him, not only money but the players to match it. If he is bought out, I'm thinking Lakers easily.
Thing is, the C's are in need of a starting caliber Center, whereas the Lakers have McGee and Howard (they are both playing pretty well this season). Not to mention, Davis can play at the 5 as well. If TT wants to showcase himself ahead of free agency, the C's would be a great fit for him.
