I just can't help thinking about the what ifs......

What If Kyrie Irving had a FULLY HEALED Gordon Hayward LAST YEAR...the same version we're enjoying THIS YEAR?

He would've had a VETERAN ALPHA going to battle with him.....I doubt there wouldn't have been any alleged "Power Plays" from the Young Uns (allegedly Tatum and Brown...maybe Rozier)?

Kyrie Irving was left walking into a situation where he HAD to lead...lead a group of young uns that had just ALMOST accomplished the impossible......

A group of young uns that were probably not going to give him much leeway....

I "LOVE" Tatum and Brown...let me make that clear. But I really believe that things would've fallen right inline if Gordon Hayward was back LAST YEAR....

There would've been a CLEAR chain of command...Kyrie / Hayward as the Alphas...Big Al as the Quiet but talented 2A......

We can believe what we want to...and I'm just making assumptions. But I "REALLY" wonder how things would've turned out if Hayward was healthy last year.

For all the wailing and gnashing of teeth with Kyrie I can see why Marcus Smart gives him SOME leeway. Smart sees the big picture.

I agree.

And imagine if we were able to trade for Anthony Davis at the trade deadline. That would've made us so much stronger vs Milwaukee. That Rose Rule was another huge obstacle in our direction, especially where the former Pels GM was dead set on trading AD to the Lakers.

I still have my Kyrie jersey hanging in my closet (though I won't wear it to another game because I know I'll hear it from some fans.)

I'm hoping I'll get either a Kemba or Jaylen jersey for Christmas and then wear it proudly to the Garden, especially when I'm going to see the Raptors game, 3 days later.

I just have a feeling that - even in this advanced world of technology - there are many things that fans are simply not aware of.

Perhaps we will never know how close Kyrie was to staying...how close AD was to choosing us....how close Big Al would've been to staying.....

Maybe the linchpin was Gordon Hayward? Through absolutely no fault of his own, though.

I bet that by the time this season is over, though - folks will be looking a LOT more favorably at Gordon Hayward - especially as he teams up with Kemba and Co.

Could've would've should'ves......that is the story of The Boston Celtics, unfortunately.....this could be right up there with Len Bias....KG hurting his knee.....Perk missing that game 7 2010........

Me too.

And is this thing in calling Al Horford Big Al a recent thing because since he got here, I don't remember anyone regularly referring to this.

I would boo Kyrie, and certainly don't want a video tribute.   I might feel differently if he'd shown any class on the way out of town, but he didn't.

One question: Why? Are they now gonna honor every ex-Celtic, even the toxic ones?
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

We should have a Celtics Villains and Traitors night.  Invite Rowe, Wicks, Shaw, Blount and all the others.

"We shouldn't boo Kyrie because otherwise FA's won't want to come here", LOL

I was told Kyrie would be "our ticket" to landing Anthony Davis. What a lie that turned out to be  ::) ::) ::)

And it's official. Kyrie WILL NOT play or even travel to Boston next Wednesday. Shocking...  ::)

Actually I just realized, he will also miss the road game against the Cavaliers, and Knicks. Lol (Knicks fans might be irked he didn't sign with them too, so...)

I am as bummed out as the next guy / gal that things didn't work out in BOS for Kyrie but I still hope we can keep his reunion classy...

He is still well-liked around the league with the players.

A steady stream of boos and we can then count on one hand the number of stars that will come to BOS in the next few years.

Oh, I don't think that is true at all.  It sounds like Irving is already being disruptive in Brooklyn and players with any brains can see what a low class exit Irving made out of Boston. Players who act like he did are booed regularly on their return to their former city.

The Celtic Brass, along with forever-forgiving Danny would be crazy to do anything for Irving when he returns to the Garden.
He left us, remember ?? Oh, I mean he left us after lying to us, remember ?
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce
