I'm glad Anthony Davis didn't want to play here.

He's the second best player, but when brown and Hayward are healthy it's possible to put out good lineups without him.

The best lineups have kemba, smart, and one of the three main wings in them.

Tatum = Wiggins.

Not sure if this is just to get a rise.

Tatum is already a much, much better team and individual defender than Wiggins--that's half the game of basketball.

Admittedly, Wiggins took a big leap forward offensively so far this year. He's playing at an all-NBA level offensively right now. I don't think he sustains it, but then again, I think any player running the pick and roll with KAT would get a major bump in production. The lane is so open for Wiggins its silly. All Wiggins has to do to get an assist is dump it off when KAT pops.

by what metric.  If you go by Net Rating, of the 5 man units that have played at least 10 minutes, the one with the highest Net Rating is Smart, Brown, Tatum, Edwards, and G. Williams.  The 2nd best is Hayward, Walker, Brown, Tatum, and Theis.  3rd best finally has both Walker and Smart along with Hayward, Tatum, and R. Williams.  4th best is Kanter, Wanamaker, Tatum, Ojeleye, and Edwards.

The key person is Tatum.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I think we all probably saw this, but it is worth noting that Tatum had 30 points against three of the premier defenders in the NBA (George, Leonard, Beverly) in the game of the year so far.

Really no way to answer this question. Some nights, Tatum is our best player. Some nights, he's probably no better than 4th or 5th.

IMO, hard to argue our best player wasn't Hayward before he was hurt. Not sure what analytics show, but if they didn't show us as a much better team with him, they're flawed.

His size and shooting ability cause defenses a lot of problems. When he starts finishing around the rim and actually playing for contact, he'll be a superstar. In the meantime, his skillset has defenses scared which is great.

They showed that he was an offensive force who stirred the drink in our offense, but wasn't a major contributor to our defense (graded out as average from what I've seen with the possibility of being a slight negative if you're bearish on what the stats show due to his defensive duties being relatively light with Jaylen covering the best offensive player every night). Overall a really good player, definitely an All-Star.

He's now at 20.2 points per game on 50.3 TS%, after tonight. Only Westbrook, after tonight, will have taken over 300 FGA with a lower TS% (to my knowledge).

Don't need to say much else, he's currently pathetic scoring the ball out there. His off-ball defense is excellent. He's improved as a passer. He's been one of the least efficient, high-volume players in the NBA.

Not by much though, he still has pretty severe tunnel vision at times. The Brooklyn game was pretty nice but he often goes iso mode way too often.

No idea what to make of Tatum. He's really darn streaky. Games like the Clippers and the Suns game were both really good showings, but the Mavs, Warriors and even tonight's game are not good at all.

However, he's finding ways to impact outside of scoring, which he was not doing at all last year. Rebounding well, some improved passing and getting some useful steals here and there.

His shooting percentage continues to drop.

First year .475
last year .450
this year .408 (worse after tonight)

I'm expecting him to get on a hot streak shortly, where he gains some efficiency. Because he does take more shots than almost everyone on the team per game.
