Brown is averaging 32 minutes/game, and Tatum is averaging 35 minutes/game.

Through 11 games this season, Jaylen is averaging 20/7/3, and Tatum is also averaging 20/7/2.

Each guy is also averaging 1 steal a game and they seem to be doing well on defense too (Tatum at times has looked "meh" on that end, but otherwise I do see improvement from last year).

There were a lot of questions going into this season about how Brown and Tatum would perform and if they could really be looked at as "our future". So far, they are looking like it  8)

The common comparison people made during Jaylen's rookie season was being like Jimmy Butler. I mean, in his 4th year (age-23 season), Jaylen's already putting up Jimmy Butler-like numbers. Feels like nowadays you see him putting up 23/8 and 21/7-type numbers regularly.

For Tatum, people thought his overall ceiling was much higher, and I feel that way too. I do think Tatum has room to grow, but keep in mind it's his 3rd year here and he's 21. Tatum to me looks like he can develop into a gifted, 25-27+ PPG scorer, hopefully with at least a solid defensive game.

There were doubts, but I'm beginning to think we got it right with Jaylen and Tatum on those respective Draft Days. Maybe we were right to not trade for a Paul George or Jimmy Butler back then and just drafting our own "future superstars" (hopefully). Getting rid of Kyrie and adding a talented, team player like Kemba has also done wonders to this squad, and we're seeing it.

Feeling good about our young core now. I don't think it's crazy to think someone like Jaylen could end up emerging as better than Ben Simmons in the long run, especially if Ben Simmons never learns to shoot from outside the paint. Tatum already looks like one of the Top-2 or 3 players to emerge out of the 2017 Draft IMO.

They both have are very long (7 ft wingspans) and very athletic. As a result they're a switching nightmare and can defend a good number of players solidly

They’ve been our future for a while, but it’s nice to see more people okay with that.

Yeah, and as we're starting to see over the years, taller and more athletic wings may be the key to long playoff runs and championships. That's not to say great guards and centers can't play a huge part, but you're best bet is if you got that wing who is tall and versatile.

Well there was some doubts, especially after Jaylen got his 4/115M. But I think so far Jaylen has looked more than worth it.

I like to think maybe last year was an outlier for Brown and Tatum considering the team (and egos) around them

How many other teams in the league have three guys averaging 20+ ppg?

Nope. Only Lowry and Siakim are over 20. Van Fleet at 17.

Do any other two young players have this much real star potential?

Several different duo are interesting, but I'd bet on our guys over anyone, except possibly Williamson/Ingram, and those two seem very fragile to me.

I wouldn't trade these two for any other young pair in the league.

Just look at how crappy the Warriors are without Klay.

Posts like these make me love going back and finding posts like:
God, Ainge is so bad. What a useless signing.

Welcome to your 2019/20 Boston Hornets.

And

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

We don't have a future now, anyway. With AD, at least you had a shot.

The better question, however, is why we were not in a better position to acquire Davis, considering Danny had years to prepare for this trade.

So much more fun. You'll note how posters like this disappear whenever the season is going well. Our two wings look like studs, our All-NBA free agent signing looks like a better fit than our previous starting point guard, and our previous marquee FA looks like an All-Star again.

A couple teams  are close. Here are the teams I can think of that have 3+ guys averaging 17+ points who have all played 2/3rds of the teams games.

The Pacers have Lamb, Warren, Brogdon, Sabonis at 17,18,19,20
The Raptors have Vanfleet, Lowry and Siakim  averaging 17, 21, 27
The Clipper have Harrel, Williams and Leonard averaging 18, 23, 27
The Bucks have Bledsoe, Middleton and Giannis averaging 18,18,30

"Brown & Tatum Starting To Look Like Our Future"

Imagine that. Danny made two brilliant draft picks and should have been looking at these guys as our future all along instead of merely pieces to move for players who didn't want to be Celtics to begin with. Though neither Brown or Tatum will ever be as good as Larry Bird, they remind me a little of the early 80's when Bird and Max, paired as our young star forwards, led us to the 1981 title.

Yeah, at least now we don't have to deal with another year of "will this guy stay or leave after the season ends" drama. It was the case with Kyrie and others last season, and no doubt would have been the case with Anthony Davis here.

I would have loved AD, but it seems he was hell-bent on joining Lebron in LA. Nothing much we can do.
