As I said before the season started I thought the loss of Morris was bigger than Irving and Horford... 29 pts and late FG to tie the game with 4 seconds left.

Good thing Tatum bailed the Celtics out or Morris could have lead the Knicks over his former team.

He would barely scratch 15MPG with us now, and he's a worse special-situation player than Ojeleye (who is good for defending freaks like Giannis).

Plus, Mook thinks he's worth more shots than he'd get here. He would have only been a problem

Missed more than Horford...I beg to differ.

Good to see him shining anywhere. Always appreciated him with the C's.

Problem with Morris is that he takes a lot of shots rhat shouldve gone to better players  its fine when when hes really efficient like the start of last season, but towards the end he and rozier were taking too many shots at a poor clip that shouldve been shots for Jaylen and Gordon.

Not to mention that Horford would be huge for us in a situation lie this (where almost all of our Cs are injured). Morris would be a good 6th man for us (or 7th behind Smart), but that's not more valuable than having Horford as a starting C
I'm bitter.

Same here.  That said, it was clearly time for the team to move on from Morris.  This year is truly about the development of the Tatum and Brown, in addition to reestablishing Hayward as an all around offensive threat.

Nah, I still think the biggest loss was Horford.

This team + Horford + PHI not having Horford would make us the favorites in the East, not MIL/PHI

Also, I hate how Morris is acting like it's "disrespectful" we didn't make him an offer. Umm, didn't you literally screw the Spurs last minute and went to the Knicks because they offered you slightly more??  ::)

It isn't the loss of Morris it is the fact that Ainge just didn't replace him.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Morris was good for us. But let's not also forget the games where he shot us out of the game.

When Morris plays like he did tonight, he's a valuable asset for any NBA team. The problem comes when Morris goes 0 for 7, keeps chucking, doesn't pass and stops working on defense. And his streaks tend not to run night to night - more month to month.

I don't miss him. But he played great tonight.

If we had Morris right now, we'd be much the same team we are.

If we had Al Horford, we'd be the Eastern Conference favorites.

I agree. Morris is a tough baller who has some hot streaks. He doesn't pass or recognise when he is off and part of the problem. I like his attitude overall but he may have been a considerable part of the whole dressing room problem. Once Kyrie made his intentions clear I think DA and BS thought it was best to cut out the whole cancer. I don't know this is true, it is just the feeling I got from the way that part of last season was covered in the media and places like here.

Perhaps, and all 3 of Morris, Irving and Rozier were part of that problem.

Despite what Morris did last night I don’t miss him at all. I thought I’d miss Horford more than I do.   Maybe when I see playoff Al I’ll pine for him. But the youngsters are really getting to me.  I love that Grant, Jayson, Rob and Jaylen are 20, 21, 22, and 23 respectively.  Not to mention Marcus is 25 and Edwards/Waters are 21.  The basketball maturity of this young group is awesome to watch and I’m glad to see these guys getting minutes and growing this year even at the expense of a few more wins (if Al,, or Morris, were here).
