Doesn't defend well. Doesn't rebound well. No good highlight reels. What's going on

The thing with big guys is that SO often they figure it out in their mid-20s.

Curious to know if the Magic have given up on him (given that they have the most dysfunctional front office)

I think the Magic's current front office is much better than the one two years ago. They do have an unbalanced roster but I think that is more about asset accumulation than incompetence.

They picked Clifford, a defensive minded coach, last year and he led the Magic to the playoffs. The team has incredible length and the Fultz gamble may turn out to be worth it (albeit with a small sample size).

With how raw he is, I think it's too early to say. Similar with Isaac, who just put up a really solid game.

Completely forgot they fired Hennigan.

Way too early to call bust yet.

Most big men don't really mature into their NBA player selves until they've been in the league for a few years.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Big men take a lot longer to develop in the NBA then other positions.  Unless you are a guy with talent like KAT, AD etc it's going to take time.  Look at Timelord.  He's developing but he still needs another full year to really be a guy who can give you 25MPG.

And Robert came into the league a year older than Bamba did, having stayed for a second season at Texas A&M.

These sort of kids are young, skinny and used to succeeding all through high school and much of college based purely on being way taller and more athletic than everyone else.  Suddenly, they have to learn how to compete against grown men who are just as athletic, way more skilled than any competition they'd faced before and far more physically developed.

Not every kid is going to be able to make the jump, to be able to develop into an NBA player.  But you do need to give them a little bit of time to see if that will or won't happen.

Considering Mo Bamba not only went not only 3x platinum in the US, and Gold in New Zealand... I would wager to take a guess it is most certainly not a bust.    ;D

I don't think that he has the height to play center. I will say, I'm impressed with the way he hustles for the rebounds and drains the corner three, but I think that his stroke needs some work.

When I saw his jumper during his presidency and he yelled WHAP! I wondered how many takes it took because his stroke was, try hard dorky uncle at a birthday party, like
ok fine

True. The big men that come in ready to play their first year usually end up in the Hall of Fame discussion. Most of those “classic centers” had to play a few years of college, if Duncan or Ewing came in at 19, would they need time to develop? I know Hakeem would have. He was extremely raw as a freshman and was just starting to figure out the game as a sophomore.
