Well that would be the biggest name in in a long while to face a long term drug suspension in the NBA.

That is a big suspension. He has only been in the league 1 year. What did he take?

A diuretic. Seems a bit excessive to me. I'm assuming the NBPA will appeal.

Yeah. Apparently there's a harsh penalty because it can be used to help flush other drugs out of the system.

Attempting to cheat a test is counted the same as failing a test.  The penalty for a first time failure of a PED test is 25 games.  They might appeal, but they will lose.  It’s all defined by the CBA.

Yeah, that's what I heard also. Where there's smoke, there's a fire, and all that. It really isn't a good look for Ayton, trying to hide other drugs he's taking. Not very surprised they cracked down hard.

I have never really understood the need for drug testing in sports. Let em juice that way the field is level. This way you have some that get away with juicing and because they are not tested.

Generally speaking, PEDs can have long-term health effects.  If you permit it, players would be compelled to use them, either implicitly because they need to in order to stay competitive, or explicitly when teams require them to do so.  Accordingly, it is ultimately for the collective benefit of the players if they are banned, even if some players use and don’t get caught while others do.

Common sense will prevail then. Once the health effects manifest the marketplace will work itself out. I think the players that have the natural occurrence of the strength hormones (or whatever) have an advantage as it is now.

Never understood why players still use PEDs to juice themselves, HGH is king nowadays.

Perhaps common sense has already worked itself out in the form of prohibitions on usage.  This is quite likely the case, despite Mark Cuban’s and your protestations.
