Hornets (0-0) at Celtics (0-0) Preseason Game #1 10/6/19

Okay saw the box score on. NBA.com.  Tps for telling me how Celtic played..

Really a game of thirds - first third of the game the Cs dominated with Kemba, Gordon and Tatum playing aggressive, driving and moving the ball. They went to the bench and we lost our way a little bit offensively in the 2nd quarter. Defensively we had issues the whole game but particularly in the 2nd quarter when Washington scored 13 for the Hornets. First half of the 3rd quarter was atrocious, we were down by 15 at one point. They came back in the 2nd half of the third with a couple of 3s by Tatum and Edwards and some post points by Kanter. When Waters, Tacko and Green entered the game middle of the 4th it really galvanized the crowd and the team responded and we took the lead and held them off. Tacko was in everything while he was there, blocks, fouls, turnovers, a dunk and a shot at the rim where he just leaned over his defender. Green was impressive, he got a few dunks cutting to the basket and also shot well from 3.

They have plenty to work on though. Defensively they have to be much, much better.

Also from what I saw Edwards and Williams will definitely be contributors. Williams will give Semi a run for his money. Tacko is a work in progress but the energy when he came on was amazing. If it came down to Tacko vs Green my head says Green and my heart says Tacko  Wish we could find a way to keep them both.

Saw only pieces of game...worked late today.

Tatum was good early.
Hayward was good but cold shooting.
R. williams started and collected 3 pf's in five minutes or something.
Edwards hit a three pointer about ten seconds into his NBA pre season career.
Kanter was aok.

Tacko Fall will be ROY...obviously

Tatum was solid. Pretty much stuck to 3s and drives.

Hayward was solidly aggressive in first half. Hurt arm in 3rd quarter and came out.

Kemba was decent but forced very little.

Starters were dreadful in 3rd quarter. Bench led great comeback late 3rd, Kanter actually played well. Edwards hit several 3s.

Fans went nuts when Tacko came in in the 4th. Had a put back dunk, several blocks and made a foul shot.

But Javonte Green was the best player. 7 for 7 with some mad dunks.

Grant Williams showed high IQ and was beast on boards.

The ugliest part of the game was our interior defense particularly from Timelord and Kanter.  Could be our Achilles heel this season.

I agree.  He didn't show anything tonight and looked awful in the summer league.  He hasn't shown any improvement since his rookie year and may have even regressed.

Tacko's BBIQ and conditioning look to be improved. I'm actually starting to think he could be good someday if he gets enough seasoning.

Grant was alright. Very intelligent player. He looked a little undersized against Charlotte's starters, but it's his first game. He was excellent against their subs and third string.

Edwards has the swagger. I think his game will translate to the NBA. His quickness and athleticism are decent. His defense is OK. Should be a sparkplug shooter.

Green really played well. Athletic and aggressive at both ends. Wish we could find a spot for him.

Semi still can't shoot.

Tatum had a sneaky-good game. Brown was alright. Same with Kemba. Hayward looks a little quicker and more confident, but not as much as I'd like.

Kanter is Kanter.
