Wondering who people think may be a 2-4th year player that takes a leap this year like Fox or Russell did last year.

On our team Tatum?
The much maligned Fultz in Orlando?
One of Orlando's other young projects?
Lonzo Ball or Brandon Ingram?
Bagley?
One of the Bulls young guys (wouldn't really consider Lavine)
Anfernee Simmons on Blazers?

If healthy, wouldn't be surprised to see Ball break out in New Orleans.

SGA in OKC.

Jonathan Isaac.

The Bulls got a few guys. I would still consider LaVine because he is still transitioning from an empty stats player to a productive player to possibly a star player. Markkanen is definitely one to watch. As is the guy who's name I can never remember - Wendell Carter - thank you google!

Bagley will have a big year stats wise but his impact will be much less than his stats until he learns how to play team defense. Next year is too soon for that given how much works his defense needs.

I am not confident in Isaac. His shot creation was too raw last year. I doubt he takes a big leap. I'd be looking for more of a bridge year from him. Show he can create a little now and then breakout more a year later.

I am pulling for Fultz. I believe he was physically injured with something that is hard for doctors to determine (and maybe even treat). I hope he can come back from this. I'd love to see him have a huge year. He certainly has the talent.

No belief in Lonzo Ball. Too weak at creation in the halfcourt. Dude is a role player. A glue guy. Not a star.

Ayton would be a good candidate down in Phoenix. He should have gotten the ball a lot more last season than he did. Hopefully Phoenix rectify that this year.

I don't really believe in Tatum (as a breakout candidate this year) to be honest. I think he is too much about himself and not convinced Stevens is strong enough to change his mindset and get him back concentrating more on team basketball.

Jaylen has got a better shot but he has a selfish teammate in Tatum, a high usage teammate in Hayward and a very high usage score-first PG in Kemba Walker standing his way ... so probably not.

I will go with one of the Atlanta youth. Either Collins or Young.

Would Collins putting up 19/10 last year count as breaking out? If not I think we should be a little bit scared ;D

Collins is one of my faves, so I'm glad to see him getting some recognition.

I think Bagley is going to have a big year. He put up 18/9 off the bench in his last 15 games of the season, and was knocking down threes. As Who said, big numbers, but still questionable defence at best. That's how I think Ayton will be too.

Jalen Brunson could be one. Put up really solid numbers as a starter in Dallas. SGA is another
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I think Collins has the ability to be much better than he was last year. I think that kid is just scratching the surface of what he could be. I could see him in the future being a 25/12/3 guy while playing winning basketball, not just hanging stats on a bad team.

Yeah, I agree with this. He seems to really have the full package. Thank goodness the Bucks didn't pick him

If Atlanta play him as a center like they are talking about, I could definitely see him having a season like that. Ala prime Amare Stoudemire on D'Antoni's Suns.

Personally I'm hoping it will be Ingram.  He was my favorite in that draft.

Looking the the ESPN top 100 projection, Fox and Russell were ranked 25 and 26. Right after them, were Jamal Murray and Trae Young.  They have Siakim at 22.

I think Tatum is a good bet. You could see a perceivable change in him during Team USA ball. Not only did he seem a bit bigger, but he was much stronger going to the hoop and being aggressive at attacking the rim. I think that's the main thing that has held him back thus far, especially last year when he fell in love with the jumper.

I think by the end of the year Tatum will have taken the mantle as the number one option/co-number one option with Kemba.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I think Terry Rozier will probably have a big jump in counting stats and consistency now that he has the keys to a team.

All good suggestions.  I throw Porzingis out there.  I just think being away from New York with Doncic is going to do him wonders.  Yes, he's a career 17.8 ppg scorer but seemed 'hidden' in the NYK mess with Melo etc.
