It's the injury he suffered while playing for Team USA. So glad our 4 guys didn't get any serious injuries from playing in that ridiculous tournament.

Agreed Nick, that Tatum injury was a scare but fortunately he's okay (knocks on wood furiously). Anyways I actually don't think that this injury moves the needle much for the Lakers, Kuzma is less valuable than one might think on this Lakers squad. I'll be hold steadfast on my prediction that they'll miss the playoffs though

Not good for the Lakers.  Already have questionable depth and this certainly doesn't help matters.

If USA Basketball asked me to play, I’ll show up anywhere.  Of course, I’m 5’9”, couldn’t ever dribble with anything but my right hand, and probably haven’t tried to shoot a basketball at a regulation hoop in 15 years, so the team is in big trouble if I’m on it, but I see no need to hold out for the Olympics.

Another big loss for the Lakers in my opinion.

First Cousins, now Kuzma.

Not good.

Feel the same way.

And their two best players already are prone to miss time themselves. When one of LeBron and Davis are out the team looks worse than last year's squad; when they're both out it looks like one of the worst teams in the league.

Last year they missed a combined 53 games, though in fairness some of that was Davis being held out after his trade demand.  But it seems very likely they'll have to weather 20-30 games where at least one of them is out, even without any major injury.

Except the Olympics is the easy tournament.  The World Championships are much more difficult to win and are quite simply a better tournament with far better basketball.

I think most reports say that even at worst, he'll miss most of Training Camp and maybe the first week or two of the season. So that's not terrible. Now obviously if he suffers another setback or something that keeps him out longer, then it could be an issue. LAL's depth is a bit shaky already with Cousins out and now potentially Kuzma.

Yep, it’s good that it’s not bad. I don’t care who it is, injuries aren’t the business! Plus, you never want a team to have an excuse, I hope the lakers go down in flames fully healthy! ;)

What a weird take. A World Championship is the most prestigious international tournament (besides the Olympics) in sports, basketball included. How can you not take it seriously? And even condemn that some Celtics players participated? It should be a great honour for them.

What's higher in sports than getting the opportunity to represent your country at the biggest international stage?
