Wow hadn't thought about the Nets, but I couldn't imagine a better situation for him to rebuild his brand. His game is not that dissimilar from Durant and they don't really have another natural scorer on the wing. The fact that he's not there now could have as much to do with Kyrie not wanting one of LeBron's guys in the locker room as it does his dropoff in ability.

I'd be looking at a fringe team. Why not Detroit as BG's backup so the scoring doesn't fall off a cliff when Griffin sits. Orlando could probably use someone like him. Miami would make a lot of sense.

It's interesting in terms of basketball ability I really don't see why some of these teams won't sign him. Really feels like he's blacklisted from the time that he called out Dolan when people were booing him on the Knicks. That's the type of ugly situation that can follow you.

I think he might be done.  Just doesn't seem to have the desire to go the Vince Carter route.

He certainly doesn't have what it takes to do what Carter did but he really wants to finish his carrier playing and I can't blame him. I m pretty sure he gets a contract and my guess is in Miami.

It seems absolutely bonkers to me that Udonis Haslem, who has played 40 games and 276 minutes over the last 3 seasons, gets a contract in the NBA but Melo can't somewhere. Surely he'll have to realise that his offensive duties will be lesser, right?

I can see him becoming an oversees guy.  The ego (hey P, they said I gotta come off the bench) seems in line with other stars who have done that (Marbury, Iverson), have to imagine he's most happy being a star and a focal point.

Also he fancies himself as a business man, I can also see him buying a team oversees somewhere while also playing for it.  Magic Johnson and Amar'e Stoudemire have both done this.
