So unless AD opts out and leaves LA, which seems very unlikely, the 2020 free agency will probably be the weakest ever. Jaylen is definitely getting hype max from someone...

There is a chance DeRozan opts out to join LeBron and AD. Somethingto keep an eye on.

I would like to see us get Evan Turner, Jae Crowder and Chandler Parsons at the vet minimum for depth. Biyombo and/or Tristan might be worth a second chance flyer at the right prices. Washed up Iggy for MLE? Yes, that's the kind of free agency we are looking at...

Jaylen is definitely getting a max offer. The more Danny waits the more goodwill he loses . Maybe he can convince jaylen to take 2-3 % less than the contract Simmons signed

We can also trade him to a team that will give him the max, though I'm not in favor of that unless it's a great return.

Our options with Jaylen in order are basically:

1. Extend him at something less than the max.
2+3 (whichever you prefer, depends on trade return) trade him/sign or match a max deal.
4. Let him go for nothing.
5. Sign and trade jaylen for green next summer  8)

76ers should learn not to trade in Celtics players or picks. I think they took a big risk on Horford.

I am surprised he did this... He left 10s of millions. I understand the reasoning but I don't remember another case like this when the player played it safe

In theory, but I'm not so sure he left any money on the table.  while he isn't old and doesn't have a ton of seasons in, he has been aging quickly the last few seasons.  His missed games keep going up and he just doesn't look like the same player.  I'm sure some of the statistical drop is because of Durant, but even taking that out, he just doesn't look the same.  I guess this season with a lot more focus on him, we will find out if he is still the same kind of player, and I'm not so sure he is.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

He may have felt guilty for chasing Durant out of town lol

His ceiling was likely an Al Horford contract moving forward, but if he got injured or he didn't produce this season, that number was dropping. He's guaranteed more money now.

It's not the same exact situation, but he did have Demarcus Cousins on his team. Maybe spending time with him made him realize that the next contract is not a sure thing.

Absolutely. And with this extension he's probably locked in to earning 180 million for his career, possibly 200 if ages like Al Horford.

That is a lot less surprising. Hayward was in his twenties coming off an all star season. Al was 33 and coming off not even being in the all star conversation. It sucks Hayward got hurt, but every team in the league would have offered him max if they could
