With free agency looming next summer, three-time All-Star Draymond Green has agreed to a four-year, $100M maximum contract extension with Golden State, agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports tells ESPN.

Green’s extension pays him $22.2M, $24M, $25.8M and $27.6M over the course of the deal. The Warriors will have $129M and $138M committed to their four max players — Curry, Thompson, Green and Russell — in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons, respectively.

Good news for Green and the Warriors. Seems like a fair deal.

If you sign them to an extension, their trade value goes up.

Good for Draymond and keeps the Warriors' Big 3 together. But how is his max amount so low? Russell got more for his max deal and he's been in the league less time. Ripple effect of draft position?

No it's just the maximum he can get for his extension. He could get a much larger max next offseason. Maybe he's afraid of getting injured next season lol.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

His value to Golden State is probably greater than his value to other teams. He is making as much as Al Horford is which appears to be the market rate for these "Swiss Army Knife" type players

It’s max extension not max contract. He extended for 120% this year salary with 8% raises.
Had he waited till next summer his max could have been north of $200M depending on whether he is all nba or wins defensive player of the year award

Great for them, obviously d russ is gone, but still, so much money on just three players, all top 10 players but still.

Gotcha, thanks. Sounds like he just wanted to lock in the $ rather than risk breaking down next offseason.

Next year's free agent market just got even weaker. This puts more pressure on us to get something done with Jaylen Brown.

Not sure Russ is out. He is great insurance and can play pg or sg while Thompson can play SF when he gets back.

Next years free agent market is atrocious. If Davis definitely stays in LA then the following are the best available in my opinion:
- Gallinari
- Lowry
- Gordon from rockets

Not worth getting into bidding wars for those 3 or the rest.
Jaylen is definitely getting a max offer. The more Danny waits the more goodwill he loses . Maybe he can convince jaylen to take 2-3 % less than the contract Simmons signed

I think Beal is a FA too. He's the best player in the group of potential FAs.

He’s free agent in 2021 not next summer

We can also trade him to a team that will give him the max, though I'm not in favor of that unless it's a great return.

Our options with Jaylen in order are basically:

1. Extend him at something less than the max.
2+3 (whichever you prefer, depends on trade return) trade him/sign or match a max deal.
4. Let him go for nothing.
