I know its still early but are the career of Dwight Howard, Jamal Crawford & Carmelo Anthony over?? Crawford age and Howard back looks to do them in..I think Melo may be waiting on Clippers, Nets or Miami to call
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

What are their vet minimum salaries?  With the long careers, I’m wondering if any of them can be had for as little as $1.4M?

Crawford dropped 50 last year. I could see him playing 10-15 minutes off the bench somewhere.

I bet Howard plays a bench big man role for twenty games the. Gets injured.

A team will take a flier on Melo. I could easily see the Lakers giving him a shot and Lebron whipping him into shape.

I thought howard was under contract for wizards. I know people will hate me but I would take him on celtics

Wizards just traded him to Memphis who, it sounds like, will most likely waive him.

Howard is the same age as Al Horford. If Dwight is done, probably mean Al's wheels will start to fall off sooner than later...we may have dodge a bullet then with that 4 yr contract.

Howard will have a mini resurrection....Crawford will be in the league for as long as he wants. He can flat out shoot.....Melo only plays this year if it is with LeBron in LA

Last year in 9 games with the Wizards he was
25.6 mpg
12.8 ppg
62.3 fg %

9.2 rpg

The year before in Charlotte he played 81 games
30.5 mpg
16.6 ppg
12.5 rpg

He would be a good back-up center for the playoffs.

Didn’t know he was waived definitely want him and if he has healthy he should start over kanter. His d and rebounding would be incredible. I don’t think da agrees with me though

I don't know if Howard is actually a starter over Kanter, simply because I have no idea if his body will allow him to get on the court. Not to mention he can't shoot or pass

He’s been fooling people in interviews for a long time and there were posts exactly like this one going back 5+ years.

Ya, you look at Dwight, it's not like he's Jared Sullinger, clearly in great shape.  You look at the stats, his per minute/per possession and PER make him look like a bargain and you start to think "dude looks like he's just a good situation away from being an All-Star/All-NBA again..."  But then you look at his track record and start to wonder.

Houston was openly shopping him in his last season there, found no takers.  Didn't try to re-sign him (AFAIK), and got better soon as he was gone.

Signed a 3 year deal with Atlanta.  They dumped him after 1 year.  They took on a worse player with a longer contract (Plumlee) and traded down 10 spots in the draft to get rid of Howard.

Traded to Charlotte.  They dumped him after 1 year.  At least Atlanta was trying to rebuild.  Charlotte was a 36 win team trying to make the playoffs, and they didn't want him after a year.  Charlotte got Mozgov ($33m left) and immediately flipped him for Biyambo ($34m left), and preferred either rather than paying Howard the $23m left on his deal.

Traded to Brooklyn.  They bought out his final year rather than have him play for them.  And they were trying to make the playoffs.

Signed a cheap ($11m/2yr) deal with Washington.  They're trying to make the playoffs next year, right?  They dumped him after 1 year, preferring to pay CJ Miles $9m rather than Howard $5.5m.

4 teams in 4 years tried to dump him, plus 2 other teams got him only to immediately waive him.

You look at him and think he should be able to help, but just stay away.
