He may play PG on offense, but he can't cover any of the real quick guys that most teams have starting (like the Lillards/Westbrooks/Foxes of the world). He's a great mismatch offensively, but he will get torn apart (and exhausted) if he tries to play that spot defensively

Probably, but who knows. I think the lineup with 4 wings around AD is probably their best myself.

If I’m a Lakers fan I think I love it on offense but I’m not sure about defense.

I also like Kuzma for them as a super sixth man bench unit leader.

I think Boogie gets the starting nod.

the starting 5 suggested above is good looking, though on defense it may have some real troubles. the bench, however, doesn't appear strong. james and davis will need to log a lot of minutes this year.

This will be disastrous, as he has lost a step and some of his leaping and this will wear him out more as others have said.

Their defense is going to be bad with an elite rim protector but I think a team could run them into the ground.     LeBron, Davis and Kuzma with two shooters ain't going to do much on D, and I think it may struggle more on offense than one thinks because Queen LeBron, is only a Count now in terms of ability and no longer royalty.

Man is health and defense going to be everything in LA.

Bradley averages around 50 games per year.
Cousins is still recovering from a major injury.
Davis has played 70+ games twice in 8 years.
LeBron played 55 games last season and is entering his 16th season.

Green and Kuzma will be a huge help.

I just don't see that crew playing defense and firing on all cylinders 90+ games into the season and postseason.

Also, this is the 3pt era and none of their stars are shooters.

That said, it's LeBron and Davis with some higher end role players in tow, so it's gonna be interesting.

The proper starting lineup would be Bradley - Green - Kuzma - James - Davis.  That will give them the most optimal spacing on offense and the best chance to put out a decent defensive group.

Bradley and Green can provide enough defensive pressure at the point of attack, Davis can anchor the middle, and James and Kuzma can take the wings.  James can run the point on offense, Davis can be the go-to scorer, and Kuzma, Green, and Bradley can space the defense.

Rondo, KCP, and Cousins are all far too poor of defensive players to start and don't offer nearly enough offense nor particularly complementary skills to Davis/James to deserve a starting spot.

LeBron played 55 games last season and is entering his 16th season.

If you want to be optimistic about LeBron's health (which I know we don't), you can think about it like this though:  LeBron just got 7 months off for the first time in his career.

In his 2nd stint in Cleveland, he was averaging 96 games a year (reg season + playoffs) and averaging 3,600 minutes per season.  His last year in Cleveland he actually played 104 games while logging 3,948 minutes, compare that to last year with the Lakers where did half that with 55 games 1,937 minutes (while still averaging 27/8/8 with an above .500 record in games he played).

He's never come into a season this rested before.  A motivated, rested, rejuvenated, scorned LeBron might have one last hurrah left in him.
