In the modern NBA superstars team up to win championships. You know this, they know this. They all know that you can't do it alone.
Superstars meet at All-Star events and Olympic teams. They bond and make friendships and think "It would be fun to play with that guy and the regular season wouldn't be such a grind."
So how do Tatum and Brown fit in to this, they aren't All-Stars? Well, because they're already laying foundations. Brown has been hosting parties and events for young players, making connections and being an influence. Tatum has been on a couple of rising stars teams and they both played on numerous pre-college all-star teams. They know the Aytons and Jacksons that may one day want to team up and challenge for a championship.
I think that factor is overlooked by all the "trade these guys now" scenarios. These two, becoming home grown stars could be the biggest deciding factor in the Celtics future. Even more so than being stars themselves, but in recruiting others.
Sure, it's fun to daydream and plan for how to acquire Giannis or KAT, but Jackson or Ayton, or Zion are the future and Brown or Tatum could be why they decide to sign with Boston instead of LA. It certainly won't be because of the sandy beaches.
