Totally out of the blue. Just say we could trade Hayward plus 3 firsts picks for him. Would that make us a real threat to win it all?

Kanter
Blake Griffin
Tatum
Brown
Kemba

Smart, Romeo, Timelord, Grant Williams, Semi, Carsen Edwards,  Theis, Tacko, Porier

My rule of thumb: if you have to ask, the answer is always no

Btw Hayward is staying for life

Disagree. Celtics instantly contenders when Blake. Great fit for Stevens, playmaking big that can shoot the three.

Nope. Even more so because Danny has built a bench that is more suited to a team in a rebuild year and not one you would have for a contender's run. That might just be the bench with the least amount of NBA experience in the entire league. Blake being added is not making the team good enough to overcome the bench difficiencies and total lack of experience.

Pass. His explosiveness are now gone due to multiple injuries and year after year, there gonna be a time when he's hurt. Pistons couldn't even rely on him and was forced to play hobbling on the court.

A healthy Griffin would make us significantly better, and unless Kawhi joins the Lakers there aren't many teams in the league who we wouldn't have a shot to beat if everything goes well.  Griffin is currently a much better player now than he's ever been.  He'd be a perfect fit and Stevens would love him.  He's now a great high volume 3 point shooter and playmaker.  He's an awesome player who is now kind of under the radar based on where he plays and his injury history.

Those things being said, he never seems to get through the playoffs healthy.  It never happens so I wouldn't expect it to happen if he's on the Celtics.  I would expect him to look great for 50 something games and be hobbled or not playing in the playoffs.  So I would be hesitant to include the Memphis pick in this deal.

Agreed, TP moiso. But assuming that we get him, couldn't Brad Stevens work out some of his load management magic? I mean he kept Horford's balky knees intact for our 3 playoff runs with him.

Putting aside that Kemba and Blake don't make me think contender, you'd need a solid defensive center to start and push Kanter to the bench.  The bench would need to be revamped.  Kanter going to the bench helps but would need to at least add a solid bench wing.

I think this too.

Blake is injured to much you can't count on him so I would so most likely NO.

We are not trading Hayward + 3 firsts for anyone...therefore the rest of this is moot

I know! I love you KGLL, but 3 firsts? Isn't that what NOP originally wanted for AD (maybe it was 4). I like Blake and if you take personalities out of it, I might be convinced to give up Hayward and like the MIL pick, but this a no-go for me. Blake is also going to be paid max money for 3 more seasons, as opposed to Hayward's 2. While that can be seen as a positive, Blake's bionic knees do give me cause for concern.

If you are taking into account fit, then Blake fills the big role admirably while opening up more wing time for the Jays, but I still have high hopes for Hayward and think he and Tatum can fill up most of the minutes at PF.

3 first round picks to take on Blake Griffin's contract? He's been the perfect modern 4, able to handle, create for others, and can shoot now.

But he hasn't been able to hit the 75 game mark since 2013-2014 season. That's been 6 full years he's been unable to remain healthy, even with load management, I don't know if he'll be a good idea to put on our team considering our center spot needs more attention.

I'm confident Kanter can do well, but our defense will certainly take a hit, and Griffin's mobility will also add to that net negative.

I would certainly like Griffin, but only if we had someone like Steven Adams or Capela.
