So who is our big man of future

none of the bigs we signed this year can replace Al, trader Danny must have started thinking about the long term solution at C. Who could that be?

Tier 1 bigs: AD, Embiid, Jokic, all in contender, we won’t get any of them.

Can’t be anyone over 30, and need to fit in Stevens system, that leaves a short list:

KAT, Siakam, John Collins, Steven Adams, KP(if fully recover), Nurkic, Miles Turner, Deandre Ayton.

Thoughts?

In an ideal world, Karl Anthony Towns.

I know we're probably a year away (maybe at the trade deadline) but that's where I'm hoping Ainge now sets his sights.

Towns might also be a little more realistic and the Celts have the assets and also if they agree to take Wiggins off their hands, would give them a leg up.

Impossible to say right now.

Most likely the next really great big who plays for the Celts hasn't been drafted yet.

I'm a still a little peeved that Ainge failing to take a shot at a big in last year's draft. Bagley, Jackson and Carter were all great prospects.

Wendell Carter would have been a great big for this franchise and we didn't go get him.

Yeah, it's gonna blow up around here when we trade Hayward, Tatum, and Smart for KAT and Wiggins. But maybe we can switch out Brown for Tatum and add a couple of picks instead.

And, no I don't think this is going to happen, but it sure would solidify our 'big man of the future.'

I wanted to select two big men in this year's draft, two of (Fernando, Bitadze, Claxton or Kabengele) to go along with the Time Lord. Put the three of them altogether behind Horford and Baynes and see if we can find our future center.  I thought Bruno Fernando at 33 was a lock and no brain-er pick, but we opted for the six foot point guard. Maybe it's the Time Lord - I hope he gets 20-30 minutes a night this year, good, bad or ugly. If not him it's some yet to be determined big...

The future of the Knicks has already been ruined twice in this decade.

First it was Lebron passing on the Knicks in 2010.

Now KD and Kyrie passed on the Knicks.

Trying to steal other teams superstar player is not a good way to build a team.

It's just too risky!

KAT is under contract till 2024. Good luck convincing the Wolves to trade him.

I'd like us to trade with the Pacers for one of their bigs: Turner/Sabonis/Bitadze. I highly doubt that they plan to keep all 3 of them going forward. Chances are that at least one of them is gonna become available, possibly even during the 2019-2020 season.

Personally speaking, I'd go after Turner > Bitadze > Sabonis (in order of preference), but at the end of the day I'd be OK with any of them.

Yeah, KAT won't be an option until summer 2023 at the earliest.



I agree that Sabonis or Turner on the Pacers are probably the most obvious target.  Seems likely they will move on from one of them eventually.


I like both of those guys a lot.  Are they really good enough to be worth giving up major assets?  The Celts aren't a Sabonis or Turner away from being a contender.

there are some nice bigs in the draft next season.

I felt like Goga should have been the big of the future this season.

But I also really like WCS for potential, Williams for potential.
