While I think it would be great if Kyrie's time in Brooklyn goes terrible, from an organizational stand point you want to take the high road and show the players you're a classy place. If things go to hell in Brooklyn (or even if they don't), you want Kyrie to say, "Man I should have stayed in Boston," or at the least "that was a world class organization from top to bottom." Those are the kind of quotes you want Kyrie giving to the media, but more importantly that's what you want Kyrie telling his superstar buddies. And who knows who he'll be teammates with in the future telling stories to about how great Boston is.
Ray Allen got a tribute leaving the team in free agency.
Even Jae Crowder got one. Sure each of those situations were different (one was here longer and won a championship, the other was traded away), but being a 2x All-Star and 2nd team All-NBA, I'd have no problem with the team giving him a tribute (also have no problem with the fans booing him).
