1. Nets have a worse supporting cast than what Kyrie had with Celtics. The nets will have to let go of their best player Russell to sign Irving.

2. Even if they sign Durant, we will see kyrie as a solo act during his first year in Brooklyn as KD recovers from the Achilles. Then KD comes back the following year, he will probably look like Hayward did last year. Achilles is worse than an ankle dislocation, and KD will be even older... 32? What a mess. Lol

3. Whether the coach is better than Stevens doesn't matter because kyrie has never listened to his coach ever

4. Kyrie is a mental midget who gives  up  when adversity arrives

I think Kyrie has already been exposed.  We know what his strengths and flaws are.

  • GOT IT!!!
I’ve always thought Kyrie needed either a great supporting cast or a true #1 next to him to be a great team. Now I’m not sure because he just doesn’t appear to be satisfied for whatever reason. Maybe that changes in Brooklyn idk.

He's going to get exposed big time. In his first 3 seasons in Cleveland the Cavs won 21, 24, and 33 games. granted, he was very young, but those records are still pretty horrible in what was a weak Eastern Conference.

He is what he is - an imaginative and efficient ISO scorer that doesn't make his teammates better and is a negative on defense. Add to that his peculiar attitude and I have to question how much he is ultimately bringing to the table.

I think the Nets will be mediocre unless they can bring in a true elite star to pair with him. And even then the odds of an implosion are pretty high.

Yes -- his limitations will become more and more clear.

Just like they were (1) in Cleveland before LeBron came (2) when LeBron was on the bench and Kyrie was asked to lead (3) and here in Boston.

I think after two years in Boston people can see his limitations. Though naturally people will swing too far against him I think.

LOL lots of folks here seem to want him to fail...I don't.

Will that make us feel better?

We'd better hope he doesn't become another Andrew Toney over the next few years.

Dude seemed to play VERY well against us before he got here...wouldn't be surprised if we don't get his BEST going forward.

He doesn't seem like the vindictive type but if we're not careful he's going to push BOSTON off the edge of his FLAT EARTH, LOL...............

And in Kyrie's universe no one will hear us scream...we'll meet the same fate as the Space Marines from Aliens, if we let him chew us up.

Agreed.  I could see things going well in Brooklyn in the early going.  Kyrie will have a chip on his shoulder, and I see no reason why the supporting cast wont play hard every single night.  I'm also assuming that the Nets will fill out the roster with players that Kyrie would like to play with.

Championship expectations wont enter the equation until Kyrie has another All-NBA talent with him.  This is when his attitude problems can/will reveal themselves again.  Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think Kyrie will crack until the Nets are being hyped as a real contender.

Don't forget he's soft so avoids contact making it very hard to close out games.

I'd hardly call him soft....

Dude was among the team leaders in taking charges last season.

I know most of us want to see him fail but let's not revise history.

Exactly.  Kyrie is not soft when he is completely engaged.  Many of us gave him the benefit of the doubt because he was playing the right way for the first season and a half in Boston.  I'll be the first to admit that I reserved judgement longer than I should have.  His on court effort remained consistent until after the All-Star break.

Revisionist history will ignore the fact that Irving was a more well-rounded player for the majority of his tenure in Boston.  The real narrative (IMO) should be that the young guys were entitled and complacent after a surprise ECF Finals run.  Irving did a terrible job of handling their immaturity and it ultimately sank the team.  A passive aggressive approach never works.

Hell do just fine. Nets will be an upper mid playoff team every year.

I'm fine with him moving on. I personally thought he was a superstar but after seeing him last 2 years I was wrong.

I have a theory that Danny didn't want him back but played up he did to drive up the price of AD.

I think Danny was out on KI before the trade deadline. The reason he didn't make any moves to improve the team. Only thing that would have changed his mind would have been a deep finals run.

ok fine
