If he were 6'8" legit. He would have been the fourth pick in the draft.

This dude is the Real deal. He brings the Power to The forward position. No more worries about Skinny Tatum at PF.

Think Draymond Green here people. Not as switchable on D against guards for sure. A much, much better offensive player than Green at the same age for sure.

This kid is the meaning of the word strong. His weight does not justify how Ungodly his strength truly is.

Spin moves  Galore. Spins off his man in the post like he's Kevin McHale. 360 floaters, Drop step Dunks. Jab step jumpers. Fade away jumpers got it.

Kid really had the whole bag of tricks inside 16 feet and the three is coming. He's a great FT shooter and a tremendous player. The Three will come I guarantee it.

Take a look at this scouting video it's great.

 https://youtu.be/Q3I6unqUOlA

lol what a write up? I skipped the video but when did Cs draft Zion? 8)

Not Zion

but pound for pound the 2nd best PF prospect in the draft

you do understand that the qualification pound for pound is used to compare boxers across weight classes. So why are we using pound for pound to get Williams to #2?

lol

maybe I'm not using the term correctly/to your liking

but 2019 was a weak draft.  Garland who played less than 10 games went 5th ....

A one trick pony like Jaxon Hayes went 8th etc.

I think Grant Williams will become a decent back up power forward for us, and expect to see him get decent rookie minutes this season at that position (12-15 mpg).

He did 185 lbs 20 times, that is stronger than many NBA athletes but if you think that is strong, you need to get out more.   Smart did 18 I believe.   I want the guy to succeed but that is simply not the freakish strength that you describe.   Might sound strong to John Doe off the street though.
i do not believe the OP simply cited strength as the only strength for Williams.

I get out plenty Celtics 4 life. Yours truly could do 25 rep's at 225 back in the day.

At the time that was better than most NFL LBs. Not sure about now. It's still pretty good though LoL.

lets hope he has a good chiropractor because the over reliance on the spin move cannot be good for his back.

I wonder how much he’s really focused on bench, though, and if that’s what people mean when they talk about his strength. To me, what really matters for a front court player is strength in the lower body and ability to transmit that through the core - can be hold ground when someone tries to back him down, or back the other guy down. That freak lower body/trunk strength really helps set Kawhi apart. Does anybody have results for Williams’ lower body testing?

About the bench - they’re testing him at age 20, and he’s got  really long arms. Against comparable age/size that seems awfully high.  If they think it would help his game, he will almost certainly be able to add several reps by the time he’s in his mid-20s.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they decided he’s done more than enough - they want to keep good functional strength and flexibility.

Has Grant played against Zion?

He seems like the perfect guy to cover Zion.
Sadly they didn't play against each other last season. G Williams had a number of good games against other strong teams, but no Duke

I’ve been reading too much NBA news. Had a dream the Celts made the finals and G Williams was guarding LeBron, Capela on Davis, Jaylen on Kawhi. LeBron’s probably too experienced for that; he’d get a switch onto Kemba or pull some veteran trick. But Williams has the strength and (probably) the quickness that he wouldn’t be overmatched physically.

Edit: yes, I deserve the mockery this post is going to draw. In my defense, I did say it was a dream...

He was tested  at P3 as one of tops of any sport and at only 20.
The kid understands leverage and he boxes out -
His lane agility tested with only Brandon Clarke faster for forwards..

Grant Williams is 6’-5.75” barefoot. Paul Millsap is 6’-6” barefoot.

I’ve always thought Millsap was undersized but made up for it with savvy and strength. Hopefully Williams has even more strength to account for that 1/4”.

Millsap does also have a 7’-1” wingspan compared to Williams’ 6’-10” one.

I'll believe it when I see it.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

He won't set foot in Maine.  Unless he's already been there.

Well if that's the case our front court will be one of the worse in the league! :-[

I know this is about Grant but if CBS doesn't help make something out of at least one of these rookies then I will be p---ed. I can't name 1 rookie during his tenure outside of top 3 picks, the Jays, who have done anything worth a [dang]. I cannot believe that DA is missing on all these picks when he had success with multiple late picks before CBS! Something is not right! I'm tired of rookies sitting on our bench for 2 seasons, rarely getting PT, then being dropped out of the nba after!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
