I think the # 1 need for Brad's staff remains a former NBA player. I forget who wrote it but someone (with credibility) wrote that there were some issues between players and coaches after Walter McCarty left because he had the credibility of being someone who really has been in the players shoes.
I know that Jerome Allen had a cup of coffee with a couple of teams, but I think having someone on staff who had some success in the league might have an impact on Brown, Tatum and the other young guys and might help diffuse some of the off court crap that torpedoed the team last season.
I'm fine with Brad hiring Lawson. But i think they still lack someone who can replace what McCarty brought to the table.
If they don't have the budget for that, drop another assistant.
