What happens to Semi, Yabu, Theis if/when we sign Kemba?

Anyone know what signing Kemba does to our ability to bring these guys back?  Theis has been a favorite of mine since he signed - I think he is really underrated.  Yabu is more of a meh but I like him as a personality on our team.  And I still like Semi as a 3 & D guy.

What's going to happen to them?  Anyone know?

Yabu is a dang waste of a pick. Raptors have hit the jackpot with Siakam but because Danny's obsession for the next Draymond, he took a gamble on Yabu who sadly we will just have to let go.

I read from some blue check mark that Semi could be kept, Theis' cap hold could be kept because it's only 1.8 mil, and Yabu is already signed.

Try to dump Yabusele to open up about 4M more cap space.

Hope to bring back Theis for cheap but honestly even if he left (or went back to Germany) I wouldn't view it a huge loss.

If all we do is sign Kemba (no s&t), then just keep all three and work out the logistics later. We will get the room exception regardless of whether or not we dump Yabusele - might as well hold on to him for trade fodder. If Theis is truly able to be kept, we should give him a modest raise (he will after all be our starting Center ) and his salary will also be able to be used in a future trade.

i share your concern on Theis. I thought he played pretty well when he played. seems like w Baynes and Horford out he'd get a chance to play more and see what happens. and hes so cheap as far as contract i think it'd be a shame to have to let him go. i would think keeping him around would be a good idea.

if he plays a lot and proves he sucks then fine let him go, but i think he's earned a look.

i read somewhere that semi just had his contract guaranteed. low cost, good defense, possible 3 pointer upside. i like the move.

theis is different. he costs more and the key maybe how much the celtics have left to pay edwards. right now, some of the better guys at the top of the 2nd round last year (including Okobo, Brunson and Robinsion) signed for deals starting between 1.2 and 1.5M.

if the celtics need to choose between theis and edwards i think it will be edwards every day.

I still have hope that Yabu can contribute to our team this season. He plays hard, hits the boards, and used to have a nice 3 point shooting percentage. Has foot speed to guard 4's and the weight to guard 5's.  Not penciling him in as starter, but in rotation for some minutes.

We have max space with semi and yabu under contract if we renounce all our fre agents including Morris and Rozier. I dont know about theis, I thought I saw somewhere that he is likely going back to Europe.
