Big man as in Lebron, KD, Leonard,  etc.  Not necessarily a center but a big player. Not a point guard.  Point guards are a dime a dozen and not worth a max contract.
could someone please post an image of someone moving goal posts here for me.

Good article in Forbes Magazine providing a detailed comparison of Kyrie and Kemba:

So with the Celtics announcing tomorrow they will be signing Kemba to that 4year deal, that means they will be renouncing Horford, Rozier, Irving and Morris and that means an end will come to the plethora of sign and trade proposals that have littered the blog over the last month or two.

They don’t have to renounce until July 6, though. So, we’ve still got another week.

Don't get me wrong, I am super happy with this signing. But here are some things to watch:

Lowe points out that Kemba is still a super high usage guy - will be interesting to see how he gels with the other guys

He's never been an elite 3pt shooter. This is a problem in today's NBA, but two further points on this. He is extremely strong from the corners, and he takes a lot of contested threes in Charlotte. Getting a bit more open (especially given his height disadvantage) could pick him up a bit. If Brad uses him off the ball some when Gordon plays the point, he could be nasty.

Welcome to Boston - let's Raptors '19 the upcoming season. Banner 18 babyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!

One thing a lot of Hornets fans seem to bring up is that often times, Kemba would have monster games but lose because the rest of the team around him flat out sucked.

Like in a Jazz game back in April, the Hornets lost 111-102. Kemba had 47 points on 50%+ shooting. The other 4 CHA starters? Combined for 6 points (lol).

I think that's part of the reason why I'm not too worried about the high usage rates with Kemba. Truth is, he was basically their ONLY true scoring threat all these years, with the exception of maybe a few years with Batum.

I doubt Kemba is going to average 26 PPG like he did last season, and maybe his # of shot attempts per game go down slightly. But if it coincides with the Jays getting more opportunities and others around him doing well too, then that's perfectly fine. Kemba doesn't have to go beserk every game to win like he did with Charlotte.

Kemba is not a superstar, but he's still a legit all-star and I think if he gels with the team better than Kyrie, he'll surprise a lot of people and maybe even elevate himself more among all the other stars out there. He gets that opportunity in Boston.

Here's what they mean (look at Kemba's stats, and those around him particularly the other starters):

I am torn, I've alway trusted Danny but I would have loved to get Brogdon as:

- At 6'5 he suits Brad's switching defence
- He's the perfect age for a retooling team
- He would make our team one of, if not the best defence in the league
- Weaken a rival team in the Bucks (Possibly of Giannis looking at us in free agency?)
- If we got him for around the 15-20 mil range we could have added more depth
- No ego and would have allowed Tatum & Hayward more ball control

I see what your saying but let me ask you a question.
If Brogdon was on the Hornets, would they have been better?  Kemba was everything for Charlotte. If you swap Kemba with Brogdon, Charlotte would be a a lottery team.

I love brogdon as much as the next guy but:
1) he is restricted
2) Kemba is alot better

i am seeing all confirmed news right now including WOJ, with the start of FA a few hours left to go, can someone explain why this isn't tampering?

Kyrie to Nets is pretty much done
Kemba to Celtics is pretty much done

how are most of these not tampering? if true

Lets face it. The NBA doesn't care about tampering. And everyone talks, plans and communicates with other FA's and front office members probably as early as May depending on when the season ends for certain teams.

Klay staying put. Kyrie likely to BKN. Kemba likely to BOS. All reported more than 24 hours before the official FA period begins. And then you have the Lakers, Clippers and others apparently setting up meetings well in advance, which probably includes communicating with the FA's themselves along the way.

And 1 means other teams that want his services will be harder to outbid because everyone wants to find the number Milwaukee won't match. Overpays are more likely with desirable RFAs than UFAs and poison pill type deals are ~exclusively for RFAs. Don't want to find out the hard way somebody else wanted him more.

@JulianCouncil

I’ve been told that Kemba wanted 5 years, $175 million. The offer was around 5 years, $160 million. Dude was willing to take a discount and they went below the discount.

Wait, what. They seriously didn't increase their offer to that?? Only an extra 3M/year  :o

And btw, this is another rumor that stems from Shams earlier on saying CHA never planned on offering Kemba close to 190M.

super high usage:  was absolutely necessary in CHA, because they are awful

never an elite 3P shooter:  why does he need to be an elite 3P shooter?  Last 4 years 3P%: 36% (2018), 38% (2017), 40% (2016), 37% (2015).  That is high 30's average and good enough for me.
