@AndrewDoxy

Woj said later on SportsCenter: "Barring an unforeseen change, Kemba Walker is going to leave Charlotte. He's going to head to Boston"

Very strong wording

Lakers fans be like "wow that's not fair how come Boston gets everyone smh"  ;D

IKR! It is what it is.  :D

Woj doesn't break Cs news, I'll wait til I see it.

And I'll just be like "what Are you complaining you guys got LeBron James and Anthony Davis smh"   ;D ::)

True. Hopefully Walker signs with us.

Side note #2, terry is now surely gone, right?

He has to be to make room for Kemba's deal. Unless he wants to resign at the vet min or something, yup he'll be heading out.

I like Kemba as a player and seems like a great personality but I don’t understand how this solves the touches issue and obviously we are incredibly small.

I would have liked a non-ball-dominant player (Vucevic?) and kept Rozier (I know...).

But if DA didn’t believe Vucevic was an option (Orlando can offer a 5th year and probably will), I like this.

Plus, Charlotte seems like a team that would facilitate a S&T for assets in the unlikely event Kyrie’s new team is willing to do one.

Smart to Philly, Capela to Boston.

How much would that suck?

To Boston: Capela

To Houston: Butler, Yabu

To Philly: Smart, Gordon, Tucker

I know there’s a BYC issue in there, but I’m sure it’s solveable. Let’s assume Gordon has to go to a 4th team.

That potentially makes Philly a monster.

yeah, I really dont like it at all.

I would far rather trot out a pathetic front court that is currently on the team than trade smart, much less trade him to Philly.

I do think there are other ways

Apologies if someone brought this up already (haven't read through the last few pages) but Chuck McKenney at Red's Army posted his opinion today that he thinks the recent news that Kemba is leaning towards Boston may be posturing by his agent to get Charlotte to up their offer.

Make no mistake about it, Kemba Walker’s agent is the source for this report and he’s working hard to exert pressure on Charlotte owner Michael Jordan. This is Posturing 101.

If there’s truly a chasm between Charlotte’s offer and what Kemba desires, why on earth didn’t Jordan trade Walker at the deadline? This is just terrible personnel management.

This is why I’m hesitant to assume Walker is signing with Boston. Something doesn’t add up.

They wanted to make the playoffs.

They don't want to be a tax paying team with not much hope, that's why they won't give him anywhere close to the super max.

I’m not sure why we would target a high price PG when we have a starting quality PG who bleeds Celtics pride on the roster. we have a much greater need for a center.

I’d much rather absorb Adams or Capela into space and sign a mid level type back up point guard.

OR

you can sign Kemba and use the mid level to sign Vonleh

Adams nor Capela fit into CBS system (starter).  He wants guys who can shoot (thats why even Baynes was encouraged to shoot the open 3). Adams is 0-7 in 3 pt shots for his career.  Capela also doesn't shoot the 3

If those kind of centers fit into the system

Danny/CBS would have drafted Bidatze or Bruno Fernado.  Not Grant Williams imo

Goga hits 3s

Im ecstatic to let Kyrie walk and bring in Kemba, but man, I think some of us underestimate the loss of Horford.

Forget the passing and the 3pt shooting.  He gives Joel Embiid fits when we play them.  Embiid still gets his but he makes him very uncomfortable.  So did Baynes.  Phillys had a hard time with us over the past couple years and things are gonna get easier for them.

Al was no slouch against Giannis too.

I think defensively, the best guy mentioned to potentially replace what Horford provided is Myles Turner.

It did seem like the "Barring an unforeseen change" part of Woj's quote was carrying a lot of weight.

It could easily be both - Kemba will take the supermax money, might take something in the range below the supermax but more than any other team can offer, but if it's not there would prefer Boston. Which is fine and fits both parties' interests well.

Would love Turner. But honestly, the East is Embiid's for the taking if he decides to lose 20 pounds and get serious. Which he just might. Still, agree Al is a notable loss.. but at his age, he's playing with borrowed time - hopefully plenty more, as he deserves it.

Jordan is TERRIBLE at his job, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to learn that he botched yet another personnel move.

Charlotte is not offering a super max. Super Max buries teams. Just ask the Wizards.. What do three players in the entire NBA have super max deals?
