I suppose it could have already happened?

This is the most anxious I’ve been about a signing ever. It’s between me being thrilled about Kawhi signing with the Clippers or Raptors, or Kawhi signing with the Lakers and me tuning out the NBA for good. I know that sounds dramatic, but if Kawhi goes to the Lakers then that Big three will win at least 2-3 titles. I rather pick up another hobby than watch the celtics fade into obscurity and have to see our hated rivals surpass us in titles. I’m so tired of super teams and this would be the last straw.

While I’d prefer Kawhi to the Clippers, I am unconvinced that he guarantees titles for the Lakers.  Age finally showed in LeBron last year, and neither Davis nor Kawhi have a reputation as an 80-game player (Kawhi has exceeded 70 games only twice in 8 seasons, and Davis only twice in 7 seasons.  It’s a real possibility that Davis-Kawhi-LeBron would only be healthy and playing at the same time for 40-50 games in a season.  With very limited depth this upcoming year, that could lead to a trying regular season and a lot of road games in the playoffs.  They probably could not sustain an injury that cost one of their top 3 half the season.  It could be a great team, but it just as likely could be a team that gets worn down by the postseason.  And if that happens when LeBron is 35, as he is next year, how will it be when he’s 36 or 37?

I’m personally excited for the possibility that the Lakers mortgaged everything and engaged in the most blatant of tampering over the course of more than a year only to come up short.

Yeah, I'd rather he just go to the Clippers. I mean, where does it end? So what if Lebron is getting old.  In two years Giannis will be a free agent. Guess where he will probably want to play? (My money is on the Lakers).

Some Reddit guy is saying it is done.  The raptors board is a hot mess.  No idea if it's legit but that's probably what he's referring to.

Also, looks like we might be meeting Cousins? (Not sure if it's legit but Miami fans think it is)

Let us all not forget that all of these players going to their new teams are just "verbally agreed" deals.

Nothing official until they ink their contract on July 6.

Y'alls remembered DeAndre Jordan backing out in 2015. Nerlens Noel almost backed out within the last 24 hours. Josh McDaniels flaked the Colts and went back to the Patriots but that's another sport but it is a Boston team.

It seems far fetched to think we’ll get the full MLE, so I’m unsure how we can afford anyone else on the free agent market.

I think we’ll have to just do a “normal trade” unless we are signing guys for the minimum.  :-[

Giannis is a different guy. I think LA is the last place he'd go.

Not according to the Raptors Real GM board.  I've been refreshing every five seconds waiting for news to hit.
