Seems like the Celts are gonna have just the room exception (just shy of $5 million) and veteran minimum deals to fill the following holes:
- Starting center
- Backup PG
- Third string shooting guard
Who are the best veteran point guards out there who are likely to be available for the minimum?
I'm assuming Smart either starts at SG or plays a significant role as the sixth man playing either backcourt spot. Carsen Edwards can't be penciled in as the Day 1 backup but may be useful.
The Celts really only need a guy who can play 10-15 minutes a la Shane Larkin.
Shelvin Mack? Jamal Crawford? Tim Frazier?
Third string SG could be anybody, but I would expect a high-character veteran. Corey Brewer? Troy Daniels? Devin Harris? Vince Carter?
Starting center I bet is going to be a name that is super underwhelming. Guys like Looney and WCS will find a team willing to pay them more than $4.8 million. Same for Enes Kanter, though I don't think he's worth paying to be a full time starter.
Kyle O'Quinn? Kosta Koufos? Khem Birch?
Better hope Timelord develops fast.
