I was joking with a friend that Ainge will take a bunch of Tweeners all the same height.

I'm extremely salty he didn't draft Sekou #14 that was my binkie. Romeo better be great. For the record. From the best the internet can offer.

Romeo is 6' 4.5" no shoes. 7 foot wingspan. To be fair great size for either guard position.

 Grant Williams 6'5" 6'11 wingspan

Carsen Edwards 5' 10.75" with an outstanding 6'6" wingspan. I love this pick.

 Tremont Waters 5'9.5" no shoes

Celtics missed their draft target Brandon Clarke at 22 he went at 21.

So My big Gripe here is that on a team that is starting Bob Williams at Center. Jason Tatum or 6'5" Williams at PF.

He passed on 18 year old Sekou who will be an All-Star eventually IMO.

Passed on The Florida State Big man . 255 pounds and 6'9" of Leng and strength.

Passed on Bol Bol a high risk right reward Big mam, passed four times

Passed on Brandon Clarke twice and wanted him at 22 supposedly.

I agree with you on Doumbouya - he was who I wanted us to pick. I have him as a definite top 10 talent of this draft. However, if Langford never injures his thumb / sits out after injuring his thumb last season he's probably a top 10 pick, if not a top 5 pick. So the talent is there.

I think DA passed on all those other big guys because they aren't starting caliber at this stage, and we have a boatload of money to make something happen.

Also, calling Grant Williams 6'5" is a tiny bit hyperbolic. He's 6'7.5" in shoes, and basketball is played in shoes. He's also immensely strong and has a near 6'10" wingspan, so I think he'll be fine. Brandon Clarke has similar issues (very short wingspan and is quite thin).

If Bol fell to the mid-2nd round then I think we're not alone in thinking he's not worth it
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

We definitely need a center, and I would bet that they have plans to get one or more centers in free agency. They need somebody who can start as a big next year – and drafting a 19-year-old is not going to get it done. Especially Doumbouya. He has raw physical talent but I don’t think anybody believes he’s ready for the NBA. Bol I don’t think is an NBA player.

Hahaha. TP. Good point, to be fair he didn't draft him. I will laugh if Taco ends up being good and we got him for nothing.

ZIon measured 6’5 1/2” without shoes. Projected to play power forward and center.

Guess he sucks too.

It's really easy for fans like us to go "he's tall, let's draft him because we need height". Fab Melo springs to mind...

It'such harder to identify the more important things like the ability to learn, fell for the game and whether people have the right attitude in a dogfight.

Doumbouya sounds like a slightly taller Yab. Little experience in lesser leagues and people are hoping he'll be as good as his physical tools. But most likely he won't...

"Waters checked into the NBA Combine at 5-10 3/4 (w/shoes), 172.4 pounds, 6-2 1/4 wingspan, 9.75 hand width (biggest hands among PGs) and 6.6 percent body fat"

Big hands is good....

Sebou sounds like Yabu ROFL. I'm going deeper into another beef with Danny.

The "Big Guys" he drafts are usually Sullinger, Big Baby, Leon Powe, Yabu sixteenth and now Williams.

Undersized, thick strong, and often a little too heavy for the modern NBA.

Danny passes On Siakam for Yabu.
 Passed on Giannis fo Kelly
 Passed in Sekou for Romeo
 Passed on Mifiondo for Williams

He's got a thing for short fat guys I guess. To be fair I love Williams the person and player, just wish he was taller.

Williams is short and can't jump 32" Max vertical I could not believe my eyes.

Zions Max vertical is like 45"
