How about a big offer for Brogdon in the 108m $ for 4 range?
That's 27 per. We construct the payment so that it down scales, with no options.
Say 30, 28, 26, 24 through 4 years.
Either we take him away from Milwaukee which leaves them with problems or we get a starting PG.
A more expensive, better Rozier.

I'd definitely use our space on a guard or a wing.
I think that we can get a big via trade.

That is a major overpay for a role player. He is good but he is not worth that kind of money. How would he improve our team and how much?

I think he has a plan/trade in place too.  Because of the I wish I could tell you comment.
Right.  He had to talking about a deal, not a FA signing which would be illegal before June 30.

I think it's going to come down to a trade for Adams and a pick (at least one).  his contract runs out in 2 years which coincides with Haywards.  Danny gets another pick to use in improving the team.

that contract will suck up a lot of the cap so Rozier is likely resigned.  not liking that but we need a pg and we have any means necessary to sign him.

would not be surprised if he gets Noel or another center/PF with an exception or what's left with the cap after Adams is acquired.  Adams trade is the starting point because he needs the cap room.

I’m buying this too.

i don't think Danny will, spend for Vuc ....although I wish he would

he ll probably go after Adams ....Danny is bargain shopper ,  that why imwas excited when he traded for Kyrie ....i,as stunned Boston , wanting stars !   oh well so,much for, that dream ...maybe another GM someday

We get a starting point guard, a good shooter, and an OK defender for his size.
That fills our needs. One other benefit of signing him would be to remove the best guard from our rival Milwaukee.
Bucks are currently the East favorites, and with Toronto and Philly having a lots of roster questions, by removing their key starter we give ourselves a better chance of success in the long term. If they sign him for this salary, give KM max, , plus resign of Mirotić/Lopez, with Giannis already at max and with Bledsoe payed recently, the Bucks would at that point be very tied up cap-wise.

I don't think there are better opportunities by using cap space now.
If a lot of that money goes to Rozier, I am less certain of that investment.
Let's say he gets 64 m$ for 4 years. In that case I like Brogdon at my value better.

I actually prefer to use our cap space on 2 players in that fringe level all star level instead of 1 bigger one like adams, vuc, or brogdon at the max.  Ideal pie in the sky is a center for 10m and brogdon for 20m, but bucks probably match.

If the true goal is to develop the Jays I think the CS will overpay for a 3-point shooting center like Dwayne Deadmon and a backup point guard like George Hill. Both obviously would be on 1-2 year contracts.

That's what I think Danny should do. We need to know what we actually have in Brown, Tatum and Hayward before making any long term move.
I would like Dedmon very much in a 2 year deal

Read that GMs reluctant to give Brogdon big contract due to foot injury concerns dating back to college and more recently last season. Not someone in line for a max contract, nor someone you want to build your PG around.

I’m comfortable having Smart starting as our PG. So I’m more of hoping that Ainge has his sights on a starting quality big man and a backup PG.

If Smart is our starting PG, we are in big trouble..

I disagree.   He is better at the point than at shooting guard.   Your saying his shot is better than his distribution skills?   Thanks for the laugh and making me chuckle all day!

Agreed. Smart’s passing and willingness to quickly move the ball are his best attributes on offense.
