This I see it is the next big question.

AD isn't coming. Kyrie is most likely gone.

Does Horford want to stick around just to be a veteran presence on a super young team?

If horford wants to leave he could just opt out and sign with a team that has cap space.  The Celts could alternatively sign and trade him to a team that doesnt have cap space.  The main notion I have there is the idea of trading Horford for Capela.  Perhaps the rockets won't want to do that now that the warriors are less of a threat. Capela could be useful in a series against Anthony Davis.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Ideally want to keep him. Extend him out and save some money yearly.

But they could trade him. ESP if the youth movement is on

Horford said he will wait and see what Ainge does this offseason. We might have to Send him to the rockets or something now

Now the capela rumor makes Sense

He could make a lot of sense on Rockets now for sure. We owe him that chance to get a title if he wants out. Capella fits our age timeline a bit better now.

Yeah I think trading for Capela would make a lot of sense, if horford is down.

I love Al. But I think it might be time for him to go...

I hope I'm wrong!

If he opts out would Boston have a max slot?

No. Even if horford, Kyrie, Morris and Rozier all sign elsewhere I think the team only has something like 15-20 million in cap space at most.

Horford stays because no one is going to pay him what he can make here.

They would have close to $30M if those players are gone. Trade away Baynes and you have a max slot. The only problem is that no one worth of a max contract is coming.

At this point, I'd love to trade him to Houston for Capella, with the main goal being to Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. over the Lakers chance at a title
I'm bitter.

Having that salary would also mean that we could trade for a big salary without trading Smart (if we chose to do that in the future)
I'm bitter.

I see this as a 50 win team with Hayward continuing to struggle.

If Hayward improves, it can be a 55-59 win team depending on how well he plays. Above average starter more in mid 50s win range. All Star into high 50s.

If Horford goes though .... everything crumbles. He is the guy that makes everything come together. Who takes individuals and makes them a team. Without Horford, this is a team that struggles to make the playoffs. That needs Hayward to play well to make the playoffs. If it gets a bad Hayward, they probably miss out on the postseason.

Keep Horford. Desperately keep Horford.

This will get hard to watch quickly without Horford here to make this team's defense and this team's offense work effectively. The offense even more than the defense. Lots of iso ball without Horford around to create ball movement.

The team is still one move away from a title if it keeps Al Horford.

You do not throw that away.

You keep Al Horford - if at all possible.

Keep him. His cap space can be used later on upcoming free agents.
