So, if we assume Kyrie is Brooklyn bound, how do you guys see the Nets doing next season?

Last season they were a scrappy, team oriented group with good coaching that was not going to roll over you with talent but was tough to beat , kinda like pre-Kyrie Celtics.

If they replace Russell with Kyrie, I can see them not improving. Kyrie had trouble leading this group of Celtics and listening to Stevens, I'm not sure that he would be a better leader with the Nets either. I think he wants to be the undisputed top player and floor leader for his team, but if that Nets team is to excel, he would have to get more out of guys like Levert , Jarrett Allen, and RHJ, instead of making it all about himself like he did in Boston.

What do you guys think? Does Kyrie make the Nets a top 3 team in the East?

I guess they could manage to still sign Durant, but he's a year to a year and a half away from being close to 100% again, and he's getting old. He also had past foot surgery issues too, these things add up for a guy his size.

It's a tough gamble for the Nets, they could end up like the Amare era Knicks.

Kyrie was Mr. Team (for the most part) his first year in Boston. I can see him keeping it together for a while. I expect the Nets to obviously be a playoff team, fighting for the #4 seed.

Better for a while, then slipping backward as Kyrie sucks the air out of the room.

I don't think they're gonna add a second elite guy. probably somebody like Tobias Harris.

So I'm gonna say 50ish wins.

They'll be solid on defense and borderline top 10 on offense.

Kyrie will be Kyrie.

They will be a joyless but effective team.

Not on the same level as Milwaukee or Philly or Toronto I'd Kawhi stays.

I put them on the same level as Pacers, slightly above middle of the pack.

Yeah. Shouldn’t the nets just pass? What about Kyrie this past year says he’ll work out great there?

Boston is a much better team tham the nets and kyrie failed to lead us to the top of a weak conference.

The nets are in a world of trouble if kyrie signs and russell leaves, with no other healthy star signing.

Kyire wanted to be in boston an be a leader, he failed, and now he wants a reset with a far less talented team.

Ma guess is that he doesn’t move the needle past this years achievements(the Nets first round exit).

Imagine Kyrie does better in Brooklyn than he did in Boston.

Then we know coaching was the problem in Boston.

Probably a 50-win team #3 seed. Remember Philly will be down Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris after the summer.

I expect them to be a 51 win team. Kyrie misses 15 games.
3 seed behind bucks and raptors. I expect raptors to be a 50+ win team even if kawhi leaves and they replace him with galinari or a MLE signing.

Could not care less about any team other than the Celtics. So I don't have any expectations for the Nets....only hopes they suck.

And to be clear, I do not have bad feelings towards Kyrie and would not be wishing his team sucks because he left the Celtics and went elsewhere. I just hope every team other than the Celtics suck. Some teams more than others, but that is due to being a rival of the Celtics and not so much because of the players on that team.

If it goes anything like past performance he will rise against his team mates and head coach, make some bonehead attention seeking comments to the media about general topics, he will sulk at times on the bench, and generally play hero ball through the season. He will cause deep polarization in the fan base, Shrug!!!!

Hoping they crash and burn and but I see a title in their future and this board imploding when Kyrie wins MVP in finals. We chased him out of Boston..karma will get us in the end.

Kyrie lifts them to 50 win status. Similar footing to Indiana and ourselves here in Boston. Firmly in the 2nd tier of the Eastern Conference behind Milwaukee, Toronto (if Kawhi stays) and Philly.

Brooklyn need a 2nd star to challenge for the Eastern crown.

Karma is that female dog, and honestly, I don't think it bites us. It bites that disingenuous Kyrie.
