He' gone I think, time to move on, I hope the NYC press eats him alive.

DLO X KYRIE

The funny thing is that the most likely scenario that lands Kyrie in Brooklyn is with him going there with another max free agent, meaning no D-Lo lol

As I’ve said for a long time now, which is only truer after KD’s injury, if Kyrie chooses to go to Brooklyn over a Boston team with AD/the chance to get AD, then I’m fine with it, as that means winning/basketball isn’t his first priority. Which is fine, by the way - he can prioritize other things in his life, such as his marketability, his faux-intellectual anti-science lifestyle, whatever.

But I’ll be fine with it because I’d only want him if he’s dedicated to winning basketball, as he showed last year that he’s not good enough by himself to lead a team there by doing his own thing.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Isn't ROC nation in deep with Brooklyn?

Jay-z is from Brooklyn. That's about it. They're clientele is pretty spread out.

jay-z use to be small owner of bkln and had to sell his part b/c of this agency, I think. I could have it wrong, I really dont remember it clear enough. I dont really remember because my only interest in the agency was because James Young signed with them when we drafted him.

But it's a partnership with CAA and they don't have a history of steering clients to specific teams.

Doesn't matter though. People are going to infer what they want into this.

Except you couldn't be talking about what I'm inferring because I think Kyrie is staying. I merely replied about what I remember (barely) about jay-z and his involvement with bkln because I remember it being more than what was stated in the comment I replied to. I don't care who he is signed with, Klutch or w/e, I really think people are losing it for no reason and Kyrie will be a Cs next season.

Carry on...

I literally just said people are going to infer what they want regardless of what happens at this point. I didn't make any assumptions about you specifically. You don't have to be so triggered.

Russell and Kyrie in the same backcourt would be the worst defensive backcourt in the NBA.

Those Jerseys are fire though.

What I have been hearing Irving is not about the big market, the fame, etc, but a team whom is willing to build around him. I read an article how the Nets wholly understand what they are getting into with Kyrie. It is a marriage. The Nets are going to give him the keys, or cater to his skill-set.

In Boston, Kyrie was never given the keys. Brad had a system in place pre-Kyrie. Technically, Kyrie never lead his own team like LeBron when they are like "Ok, we need to surround this guy with shooters." You surround Kyrie with defenders, not "Me, me" guys trying to get paid.

I am intrigued to see what Kyrie can do when the franchise wholly buys into his skill-set. Even in Cleveland, he was surrounded by Bron's guys, not his own.

If so then Kyrie still hasn’t learned and it’s probably best that he leaves Boston. That Kobe like mentality is what truly holds him back. He’s the second banana and the day he finally accepts that is the day he finally is “woke”

Yeah, seems like he's going to Brooklyn. At least it's not the Lakers or Knicks.

Celtics are in a better position than most other teams, but I wonder what the road to contention from here is.

So Irving firing his agent = Irving to Nets confirmed.

That means Anthony Davis to Lakers is also confirmed as there is no point in playing for an Irving-less Celtics team.

It's time to move forward with the youth. The future of Tatum and Brown begins. It just irks me that Rozier will also be a part of this group.

Does it matter if kyrie leaves? We traded the corpse of IT, some euro stiff, crowder, colin sexton, and a useless 2nd rounder for him. Lol

Colin sexton may be good one day but it was worth the dice roll

I can see the Knicks and the Mecca of basketball but Brooklyn? Really?

Better organization by a mile, with a better roster to build from.

It's not so much that he wasn't given the keys, or have a team to build around him. Brad knows how to adapt his system to get the best out of players and Kyrie had plenty of opportunity to play his game, you just need to look at the amount of people on this forum unhappy about him playing his game and not "Celtics basketball". He had a lot of young guys who looked up to him in year 1. The issue is that he got injured, they made it to the ECF without him, and he lost some moral authority as a result. He never complained about the team, or the young guys, or the young guys lacking experience, until this year. Last year they were probably listening to him more than they were this year when they thought they knew it already since they made it to the ECF without him.

That said I agree that he wants his own team and partnering with another superstar, potentially one better than him, was never really a possibility. That was just a media narrative that dominated the year.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

I don't think this automatically means he's going to Brooklyn.
