Tony Parker, one of my favorite non-Celtics, has announced he is retiring from the NBA after 18 seasons!

🇺🇸 It’s with a lot of emotion that I retire from basketball, it was an incredible journey! Even in my wildest dreams, I never thought I would live all those unbelievable moments with the NBA and the French National Team.
Thank you for everything!

Not a bad career when you think about it.

Not a bad career when you think about it.

4 x Champion, 6 x All-Star and a Finals MVP is a pretty [dang] good career lol

Dirk, Wade, now Parker.  3 HOFers retiring.  Any other HOFers hanging it up this summer?

Parker was one of my favorite point guards to watch when he was in his prime.

2013/2014 Tony Parker is pretty close to my ideal of the point guard position.

Could score from anywhere, was a master at getting to his spots without dribbling too much, found the open man without hunting assists.  Just a perfect part of the Spurs' machine.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

From skimming through that interview, I would not be surprised if he came back mid-season for the Spurs if they are having a good season. It seems like the main reasons he cited were being away from family in san antonio and being on a team that was not competing for a championship. If spurs get a little development from Murray, walker, white or others and are back around 50 wins, why not?

Parker was not a true pg perse, but a score 1st pg. Also, Pop was the leader because nobody on SA ever talked ;D

He averaged 5.6 assist over his career with some greats like Kawhi, Manu & Duncan. One of the better finishers in the game back then. Great dude, class act.

He is who I’ve wanted Kyrie to try and emulate some more. Obviously Kyrie is more talented and a better shooter, but Prime TP is a great model for a shoot first point guard.

Great career. Some stories about him as a person make me a bit iffy, and the way he dealt with Kawhi was poor, but can’t take anything away from his HOF career.

Parker wasn't the nicest person on that organization. He's a piece of dung, sleeping with his former teammate's wife. But as a player, you couldn't ask for more about his role and contributions.

No farewell retirement tour or anything like Kobe, Duncan, Nowitzki, Wade, or Pierce did? Wow!
