I noticed he recently changed his avatar to him as an All-Star with the C's

He also has a pic of him in his story wearing Celtics gear, which I know is an old pic cause I remember trying to find that hat for myself after he started wearing it [insert eyes emoji]

Not 100% sure but I think that pic is him at Las Vegas Summer League at the UNLV Thomas and Mack Center, which if it is, I was there that day!

EDIT: upon further inspection, it is not the same day  ;D

If IT came back and was decent, but we didn't have to rely on him as a 20+ scorer that would be great. Even coming off the bench would be a huge boost. Dude has heart, and thats something this team seem to lack most night last season.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Thomas, if healthy, is like a souped verison of Shane Larkin.

I think it would be fitting to see Thomas come back to Boston, and become absolutely amazing off the bench. I don't trust him enough to let him start, but if he wins 6MOTY while with us and leads us to a banner would only be nothing short of a Cinderella story.

Whether Kyrie comes back or not, I'd take him back on a 2 year MLE in a heartbeat. I think he'd finally accept the role of 6th man.

IT was awesome for us in Boston, but he isn't sniffing anything close to the MLE from any team. I also would welcome him in a bench role - much like what expected when we first traded for him - but there is no way we can depend on him as the starter for this team...especially long-term.

But have you seen his performances during his Cleveland/Lakers/Denver days

Sadly it would be a major downgrade at the PG position

If he totally bought in to a 3rd string role maybe he could be a pleasant surprise for the 100th time in his career. Might work his way to a rotation spot, but I think that's the best case scenario. If that's what we're talking about, I'm all in.

Off the bench? Sure. If healthy though. Guy looked like almost soul trying to figure it out when he came back.

I think IT is done but if he can still play he'd be welcomed back with open arms.

Would love to see him come back as long as it was off the bench. I’d much rather him playing as our bench guard than Rozier.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

He’s one of my favorite recent Celtics, but I’m not sure that he’s a rotation player anymore. I’d be glad to be wrong.

One of the most "Bleedingest Green" players I have EVER seen...

If Kyrie and Rozier doesn't come back then I'd welcome IT4 back with OPEN ARMS.

And he absolutely SHOULD get a shot at the starting spot if Kyrie and Rozier leaves.

Getting this dude back in ANY capacity would be like a shot of adrenaline in the arms.

I think this team has moved on from IT. He was great when here and everything had to revolve around him. Sadly, that injury has ruined him. Everywhere he has played after leaving Boston, he has looked just awful.

He can't be the iso scorer that scores enough to make him a net positive on the court anymore. His defense is perhaps the worst in the league and his offense since the injury has not been good.

Love the guy. He was an amazing Celtic in his short time here but, it's a hard pass on bringing him back.
