The Phoenix Suns have told other NBA teams they are open to trading out of the No. 6 overall slot for a veteran guard.

The Suns have been searching for a starting point guard for several seasons.

The top two point guards in this draft, Ja Morant and Darius Garland, are expected to be off the board before the Suns select at No. 6

They could just sign rozier and he would probably want to go there for the role.

He's an RFA, so the Cs might be able to extract some value if Phoenix really wants him. That said, the sixth pick, or even a pick swap, seems a little rich.

I don’t think the Suns have cap space.

How? Booker just got on max and that have Tyler Johnson and someone else that's like 12M a year... I don’t think they have cap space..

But this news is for the Pelicans (Jrue Holiday)

Mike Conley.  Probably not worth 6 straight up, but seems like there could be a trade with those 2 teams.

maybe Conley, Brooks, Rabb for Johnson, 6.  Gets the Suns the veteran PG, a nice wing prospect in Brooks, and another youngish player in Rabb for 6 and a high priced guy that is repetitive and unnecessary.

Not sure that is quite enough value for the Suns, but that seems like something that could be explored.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

tyler around 19 mil, tj warren 11 mil, ayton 9 mil, jackson 7 mil, mikal 4 mil, booker 27 mil, =80 mil plus oubre cap hold or player option of 4.5 mil tho he's declining obviously

If they don't want to keep Oubre, they could pretty easily create 20 million in cap space even if Johnson opts in.  Even if they keep Oubre, they could probably create like 12 million or so.

Which Brooks. Got to make sure it is the right one.

I'm not sure Holiday makes sense for them time wise, unless they are trying to get a vet to help the young guys. Rozier fits them better when you factor in age, he's been in the league for 4 years, and into the playoffs, and deep, and played well last season(not so much this).

Man getting the 6th for Rozier would be huge in trying to get AD or even if the C's decided to go young.

Cant sign and trade on draft night

But what about trading Rozier rights and 14th pick for the 6th

Im sure Rozier wont havr any problems signing with the Suns to get the opportunity he wants

Unfortunately the NBA doesn’t allow trading away free agency rights.

If the Suns are open to trading the 6th pick for a veteran PG, it just tells me they have no interest in signing Rozier in free agency.
