Semi-pro boxer in his prime beats on old man for 16 minutes.  Yawn.
And a bunch of numbskulls paid to watch it.  Paul will make around 40M and Tyson around 20M.

I will say that Mike did get himself into pretty incredible shape for a 58yo. I think that's what sold people on the fight going in. Unfortunately, It wasn't even a sparring session. Just a charade.

At least Jake is bringing attention to boxing, though. I?d imagine if you ask 100 people under the age of 30 to name a current boxer, most would only know Jake Paul.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

What would be the NBA equivalent to this? Bronny vs Michael Jordan?

How many people do you think didn?t have Netflix and bought it solely for this fight?

Most tuned in because it was free for subscribers. They knew a PPV for this would never work out.

As an aside here, I had major issues with the stream.  It froze up a bunch and was blurry for a lot of the time too.  I don?t usually have this issue, so it wasn?t my wifi.  Doesn?t bode well for Netflix in their quest to expand live sports coverage events.
Yup

I don't know what people are whining about. The undercard was great, and non-Spanish-speaking Americans are talking about boxing for the first time in many years.

At this point any exposure is good exposure. Jake Paul may be a fraud as an athlete, but he understands our Idiocracy and social media. He's the perfect carnival barker for this generation.

PPV greed has nearly killed this sport. Netflix and other streamers could save it. If some reality-tv-esque farces are needed to draw in numbers, then so be it.

Will really low quality matches between washed up convicted rapists and fraud athlete reality stars save the sport?  The most recent high profile match before that was what, Mayweather versus McGregor? Another lousy fight between two people who would be charitably described as horrible human beings.

If the sport is going to be saved, it needs to showcase top talent fighting against one another.
