And the last point I’ll make and I’m done with this is the best ability for any player is AVAILABILITY!!! One thing Tatum, Jaylen, and Rozier have for certain is durability and that absolutely cannot be miss valued. JJJ has already been dealing with injury issues and JA is slated to have surgery before the draft all ready.

If you’re going to mortgage Tatum you might as well aim for the stars and get you an AD, Towns, Cousins, KD, or anyone other highly talented big.

Correct, but I see no evidence Ainge or Stevens feel that way. Which is one reason why I see no championship in the near future.

Ainge had numerous opportunites to replace Baynes when he was hurt down the stretch, and it cost him a lot of games.
In the meantime, the other contenders were grabbing the available bigs. Notably, Marc Gasol by Toronto. And we see where they are now. Their African GM takes a lot of chances, but he has beaten Ainge by a mile lately.

If Ainge is really serious about AD, he will make an offer for him NO can't refuse. If he doesn't get AD, maybe it will be evident why. He may simply not try hard enough.

The way I see it, the roadblock may be Stevens. He likes bigs like Horford  who is really a stretch 4. Trouble is he has no Millsap here to do the dirty work inside. Baynes has his limitations--he lacks length and is injury prone but good value. Williams is a nonentity.

The Celtics have a hole in the paint, much like the Red Sox have a hole in the bullpen. Both need fixing.
