CP3 robbed the Rockets

Nobody wants him with that contract

are the knicks still an nba team? they seam to enjoy making those type of moves.

on a serious note, CP3, Mike Conely and John Wall, in no specific order, probably in the top 5 worst contracts in the league

Mike Conley belongs no where near this list.

yeah i just checked it out a bit closely, it's not that bad, just a bit overpaid IMO.

Omg James Harden to the Nets is scary with Kyrie and Capela. Sheeeesh

Yes, because Morey will give his top 2 best players so Nets can create a superteam..

Excellent take.

The craziest thing about this report is that it suggests there is even a sliver of a possibility of James Harden being traded.

Just as long as he never wears Celtics green, I don't care if he gets traded and wouldn't even be surprised.

As long as DA gets me Jrue/Smart/Brown/Davis idc where he goes. He can go to the Bucks, 76ers, hell even Golden State (just kidding), I’m confident in that lineup.

Paul's health is an obvious concern, but he is still a darn good player when healthy and would make just about every team better.  But man, that contract is so big, it would be hard to not only acquire it, but really stomach paying it, especially in that last year at 44 million
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

If Kyrie leaves and Rozier is waived maybe Danny can trade Hayward for Paul?
He should try to get Houston to sweeten the deal with a 2022 unprotected pick

4 years of paying someone who is pretty much going to decline dramatically over 35 million, or take on someone else who has a good chance of bouncing back and is only on the hook for 2 more years?

I have no interest at all in trading for CP3.

However, if Kyrie leaves and Horford indicates he wants to go to a contender, I think it would be worth looking into doing a sign and trade of Horford for Capela.

Capela doesn't make you a contender by any means but he's probably a useful asset to have and he is more in line with the age timeline of Brown, Tatum et al.

I don't hate this, in fact the more I think about it, it kinda matches up perfectly for both teams. Houston has struggled to find a SF and Boston might need a point guard. Stevens would get a pass-first veteran leader to run his offense and be able to keep the young guys rather than trade for Davis. But I only see it worth it if you get that future unprotected first round pick.

It actually makes some sense, but I can't stand Chris Paul

I saw they're also stonewalling Dantoni in contract extension talks... Wow... All he did was turn a castoff into an MVP candidate and take you to back to back to back 50+ win seasons with a bunch of role players. Jeeze.

Clint Capela is the intriguing player here. Looking through my green colored glasses, I'm more interested in seeing how this can help the Celtics.

With all the talk of trading for Davis, could Danny quietly try to work out a three way trade and acquire Karl-Anthony Towns instead? I think Davis is the better player, but Towns is about to enter into his new 4 year max extension. It would take the sting away of losing some really good young players, knowing the player you acquire will be here for more than one year.

Boston – Karl-Anthony Towns
Minnesota  - Capela, Brown, Memphis pick
Houston – Tatum
(Principles only - ESPN trade machine not updated)

Then again, does New Orleans prefer to get another quality big man to help protect Zion Williamson? Maybe substitute New Orleans instead, and adjust trade from Boston's side to give less due to Davis only having one year remaining on his deal.

Towns would be my favorite get of all.

I don't think nobody is gonna touch CP3 contract. Maybe only Lebron GM. Then they sign Carmelo and the banana boat team is complete

Convince Dwyane Wade to come out of retirement to sign with Lakers. And bring Dwight Howard back to LA.

CP3/Wade/LeBron/Melo/Howard

That is one crazy lineup. In 2012 it would have been very dominant and win you multiple titles.
