This guy is the ultimate fall from grace... he was viewed as a franchise player at one time. Just like OJ Mayo. Shame.

Is the NBA like the NFL, where the league doesn't release what the substance was?

Would have been nice to have him off the bench

Pretty sad the NBA looks the other way when lebron gets caught doing roids at the same clinic as a-rod

Is this the last we've seen of tyreke in the NBA

Must've been one helluva substance then if it's 2-year ban.

The NBA announced Friday that guard Tyreke Evans has been dismissed and disqualified from the league for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

He is eligible to apply for reinstatement in two years under the program.

Evans, 29, played for the Indiana Pacers this season, averaging 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 11.54 minutes per game.

The Pacers said they were informed of Evans' discipline on Friday.

"We take these matters seriously and will reach out to Tyreke to offer our support," the team said in a statement.

Caught the OJ Mayo special there. Hope he gets his business straightened out, I think that ban takes multiple positives for some of the hard stuff.

Yup. Hopefully it's a wake-up call to him and he gets the treatment he needs for the sake of him and his daughter.

Tyreke Evans tested positive for "drugs of abuse." According to ESPN (when Chris Andersen was dismissed for this), "The drugs on that list are amphetamine and its analogs, which include methamphetamine; cocaine; LSD; opiates, including heroin, codeine and morphine; and PCP."

It does not mean Evan's took all of them. It simply states which one is considered drug of abuse and harshly judged.

LSD; opiates, including heroin, codeine and morphine; and PCP are not analogs of amphetamines. Amphetamine is a central nervous stimulant. You could throw cocaine on that list as an upper but it's not in the amphetamine family in  a strict sense...

Wow. What a shocker.
He will be 32 at the earliest when he can play here, but I don't think that he will never play in this league again.

While that list of drugs is extremely concerning, I will play devil's advocate real quick. Amphetamine in the most positive term could have meant he was abusing Adderral without a script.
I in no way condone that, but thousands of students at every college in the nation abuse that drug for testing or recreational purposes on a consistent basis.
Hopefully he can get the help he needs. He will probably play the rest of his days overseas. Very sad to see.
