I still have concerns moving forward
I still believe that rozier and morris should have been moved

But

If Haywa4d can be that effective every night then I would not shop Tatum for Davis. Nope. Not a chance.

Been on the fence(mostly nay) to trading tatum anyways but now after the last month or so of his play I am firmly NO.

If Kyrie doesnt like it thats ok.

Just get a real bigman center and roll out

Smart
Hayward
Tatum
Horford
Center

With Smart defense, Hayward ability as a creator, horfords ability as a creator, horfords backbone defense iq, smarts ability as a shot creator, shooting from everyone. Lineup is LETHAL on BOTH emds of the court.

This team brought the effort for close to a full 48. I thought people kept their poise. Even Rozier (who has a tendency to go haywire). Horford and Hayward played like all stars

If GH can keep up this level of play, I’d be less worried
If guys went inside as much as they did, I’d be less worried
If guys competed like this in most games moving forward, I’d be less worried

Fact is, our team rarely plays this type of basketball for a full game, especially on the road. The worst thing (I think) that could’ve happened is if we had gone up by 20 early in the 2nd quarter. With our 3rd quarter malaise and the teams tendency to coast after they feel like they’ve “won”, I could see Philly coming from behind and beating us. I’m glad the game was close. I’m glad Embiid was talking trash. It helped keep our guys interested and well, talent for talent, this Celtics team is hard to match.

like what i saw from Hayward,  he played hardnosed basketball in a meaningful game against a tuff opponent on the road .  Thats called stepping up.   Might been his best game as a Celtic overall.

That's the thing, they brought consistent effort. There were possessions where they got broken down but for the most part they competed throughout the game. Our starting backcourt went 5-22 but our depth got us home.

Just wondering.

We will be back to panicking as soon as we lose another game  ;D

nope. DEPENDS HOW BRAD COACHES AND IF WE RESPOND with any discipline

It's ironic that Philly fans can't understand why we want to get rid of Brad though. I guess we would still take Brad over Brett Brown?

It's because people that want Brad fired are way, way overreacting. This team isn't playing to 100% of their potential, but Brad is not the problem (or, at least, not the only problem).

Firing him and bringing in a worse coach (no, there isnt a better coach available. Pop is not walking through that door) wouldn't solve anything (except making people realise that Brad wasn't the problem)

Everyone has to step up.  I think they will come playoff time

right. but we are not in lockeroom or listening on bench, is brad making adjustents and team not listening? or vice versa? they all need to get it together. problem is like i told others here is this lollygagging against crap teams HAS and will cost us in playoff seeding and thus homecourt.

and FTR i do not think brett brown is a bad coach at all. also i have always liked stevens he just p---es me off to no end at times.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Somewhere hidden within this group of players is a good team. A team that could at least go to the ECF.

The question remains which Kyrie does it include. The guy that scores 20 that facilitates and trusts his teammates? (He's there, I've seen him.) Or the Kyrie that aims to score 30-35 that trusts no one but himself and that cares only about his superstar image? (seen him too)

Or no Kyrie at all.

well we made ECF last two years. we blew it last year. we shoulda made finals. we blew a 2-0 and 3-2 lead in series.  ECF won't cut it now. FINALS OR BUST!

I think we have a team that is only engaged to play against good teams.   Against other teams this team coasts.
So that bodes well for the playoffs.   ;)

I think whenever my non-Celticsblog Forums friends ask me this, my response is, “I’ll tell you after next game.”

This clearly shows both (1) my paranoia and (2) their inconsistent effort.

But I really do think tonight is a big game! It has all the makings of a letdown game. But if we win it could be a momentum builder leading into outnumber game against Milwaukee.

So I’llyell you after next game!

What exactly has changed? We know the Celtics can beta anyone on any given night, but the factors that caused people to panic are all still there. Hayward has to prove he's back, the defense (especially Morris, Hayward and Rozier) has to improve, Tatum and Brown have to attack, they have to win on the road consistently (because they are gonna be on the road in 2nd and 3rd round). And that's besides other worries like will Smart and Morris come back down to earth shooting wise, will Kyrie hold up, ect. So while we probably shouldn't be panicking, I think concern is, has been and will warranted.

It actually bodes very well. We get up for the big games and I expect to see what we saw last night every game in the playoffs as we march onto the conference finals and beyond.
