I was just taking a peek at the standings, but then it hit me that most of these teams have already played about 46-50 games this season. There's just a little over 30 games left for every team. Wow! Feels like the first 50-ish games of the season went by in a blur. A lot has happened and there's been drama here and there (including with our own team), but dang... we're less than 3 months away from the playoffs and have just 30-ish games left in the year.

On one hand, that looks impressive and I'm excited we're relatively healthy right now and on a good stretch (20-8 in our last 28 and 9-3 so far this month). On the other, it's a bit terrifying that the season is nearing the final stretch and we're still just a 5 seed in the East. Hopefully we can start gaining some ground ASAP. I think the chances of us nabbing a Top-2 seed is real slim (Toronto and MIL have it in the bag), but leaping past IND (now w/o Oladipo) and PHI is still possible for us to go in as a 3-seed. Then as long as we're healthy, I like our chances against anyone in the East (can't worry about Golden State or other West teams until we get to where we want to go obviously).

Felt like just yesterday we were watching the ball drop midnight of January 1 signalling the start of a new year, and now we're already nearly a full month into 2019. This season feels the same way too  :o

I'm curious to see if we go on a post All-Star break Brad Stevens-esque run to jump up in the standings. You're right though, this has gone by fast!

Yeah insane to think that after next Sunday, football season is over (but hopefully it ends with Brady hoisting his 6th!)

It’s a slog. Not as bad as baseball though.

As soon as NFL (Patriots) season is over (with the Superbowl win ofc), I'll have 100% focus on the Celtics. I shadowed the Celtics games through the first half of the season and watched 70% of the games. Seems like Hayward is making slight progress over the last few games with his ppg.

The playoffs will be interesting. Hopefully, the Celtics are the team as advertised from the summer to represent the East in the finals.

Yeah same honestly. And Hayward and Brown have both improved in the last month and that's encouraging to see. Also, Rozier has some ups and downs in games but he's also looked a lot more efficient lately. That's key as those 3 (or 2 of them) will lead our 2nd unit and that's what the goal was, to have a great starting 5 and one of the best second units in the league.

And not having Lebron in the East makes things feel wide open. I'm aware that Giannis and Leonard exist, but trust me they aren't Lebron (and I hate Lebron but respect him as the best player in the league and the only guy who can legitimately be compared to Michael Jordan).

The games have passed by like dead animals on the highway.
