Let me sum it up.
The only reason this thread from 2013 was opened up again because Hayward suffered a gruesome injury that was similar to PG13 (who needed about 1.5 years to get back 100% as well - physically AND mentally ). Of course, in his comeback season, his stats aren't as great and he's no longer having the All-Star impact because of it.
That's like asking, is Curry at 50% better than Harden? Of course Hayward is way better than Green. Maybe it's a close comparison if we're talking RIGHT NOW, but that was Paul George a few years ago too until he came back strong again. Need to be patient with Hayward right now.
I hate to be "that guy" but the Paul George=Gordon Hayward narrative is as lazy as it is inaccurate.
George broke his leg in August of 2014 and played the the next full season which started in October of 2015... That's 14 months...
Hayward broke his leg in October 2017 and it's now December 2018... That's 14 months...
George's numbers for the first game of the the 2015/2016 season (14 months post injury) were 17 points 12 rebounds 8 assists and 3 steals... In the first 20 games that season he scored more than 20 points in 15 of them... In his first full season back he averaged 23 pts 7 rebs 4 assists and 2 steals...
There's really no comparison in the two player's recovery... 14 months post injury Paul George was once again a two-way monster playing at an all-star level. 14 months post injury Gordon Hayward is a bench player.
